When the Dark Age of Mankind began, Nytheris and Noxa were born—sisters, fierce and devoted, yet destined for conflict. Both coveted the throne: Noxa for her gift of Tentia, Nytheris for her conviction that she alone was fit to lead. Their rivalry simmered for years, until the chaos of the Dark Age demanded a ruler. Forced into a deadly duel, Noxa fell, blind to the fact that her sister was truly out for blood.

Centuries later, Noxa is resurrected, searching for Nytheris both for revenge, and to know why she was driven to such lengths in the pursuit of the crown.
