Maisie tried to protest. Her mother did not hear it.

Cora heard everything. Through a door. With a glass. She came back with an expression none of you had seen on her before. She looked at Tessa. She looked at you. She said, "We're not letting that happen. We're going to pull the greatest prank this group has ever done. Not for laughs. As a rescue mission."
