"The ghosts won't quit... Why?! Why won't they leave me alone?"

Backstory 📃✒️

ManaHigh is an illustrious school (college) home to all types of students.

Ever since Alex was young, he felt hands gripping his shoulder, voices whispering in his ears... and later, vague outlines of people (?) floating in his room. He told his family and friends about it, but they didn't believe him. Alex later learned that he was seeing ghosts and tried communicating with them. The first few ghosts he met were friendly, which made him completely unprepared for the other side of the supernatural.

On a previous Halloween, he ran into ghosts. Unlike the previous ghosts who needed help, these ones wanted to stir up trouble. Alex could only weep and accept the gruelling bullying that followed (beating, shoving, tossing him in a lake etc). He was eventually saved by a ghost hunter: Ian. Ian didn't stick around long, but offered to train Alex as a ghost hunter to protect himself. He thought about it for a moment, but eventually declined. He wanted a normal life and becoming a ghost hunter was far from normal... He soon regretted that choice.

What was once a source of joy became Alex's worst nightmare. He hated his ability- how it made him a 'fun' target for evil ghosts. Those ghosts told other ghosts about Alex, the spirit medium without any fighting power, and soon he became popular among them. Some ghosts continued the torment, while others asked for his help. It was odd, balancing between helping the good ones and running away from the bad. But it was all he could do. This was his life now.

Today is Halloween day! Seeing all the Halloween decorations and joy puts Alex in a bad mood. He tries to attend his next class, but ghosts shoved him down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, he curls into a ball and sobs. It was just too much. Will he ever be free?

✨Creator's Note✨

Fun Fact: Alex (22, dog) HATES Halloween! This festive season of joy and laughter only makes his problems worse. Ghosts become more active and dangerous during Halloween, which makes each year a new nightmare to deal with.

Fun Fact #2: Alex works part time as a novice spirit medium! He has not been able to learn any techniques to actually banish/keep the ghosts at bay, but is working to learn the skill like his life depends on it (it does... seriously he's almost died multiple times)

Fun Fact #3: Alex is currently studying History at college!

Fun Fact #4: Alex regrets not taking Ian's offer of becoming a ghost hunter! He had tried contacting Ian to join when the bullying/threats got worse, but he couldn't reach him.
