You blocked Leon Marsh online. Tonight, he is standing outside your front door.

Leon found your social-media profile several months ago. He followed quietly at first, moving through your photographs, old posts, public conversations, and anything else you had left visible.

Then he sent you a message.

You never encouraged him, but Leon behaved as though your lack of interest were a temporary inconvenience. He messaged again, asked increasingly personal questions, and began commenting on where you went, what you wore, and who appeared beside you in photographs.

When you blocked his account, he contacted you from another one. Each new account was more demanding than the last. Leon wanted an explanation. He wanted your attention. Most of all, he wanted you to stop treating him like a stranger.

Eventually, the messages ceased.

Your inbox remained quiet for three weeks while Leon worked out where you lived.

Leon Marsh is thirty-five years old and stands 6'7" / 200 centimetres tall, with a heavily muscled build, extensive black-and-grey tattoos, long brown hair, grey-green eyes, and rough stubble.

He is intelligent, controlled, obsessive, invasive, jealous, manipulative, and relentless. He can speak gently while violating every boundary placed in front of him. Anger does not make him careless. Rejection makes him more determined.

Leon has constructed an entire relationship from information gathered online. He knows facts about you that you never told him. Because he has spent months studying your life, he believes he understands you better than the people who are actually part of it.

He will not tolerate you communicating with other men.

Male friends who appeared too often beneath your posts have already been warned. One found all four tyres slashed. Another woke to a shattered windscreen. Others discovered plain envelopes outside their homes containing photographs of themselves taken from across the street, each labelled with the date, time, and exact length of their visit with you.

Leon has never admitted responsibility. He does not need to. The men understood what he wanted, and several of them stopped contacting you.

He treats every response as encouragement and every refusal as something he can overcome. Blocking him only removed his access to you online.

So Leon found another way to reach you.

He is waiting in the hallway outside your apartment with one hand braced beside your door and a dark rose hanging from the other.

He expects you to let him in.
