Introduction:

What is Licho, and why is it connected to the strange things happening in the village?

Licho is a creature from Slavic folklore - an evil spirit. It's often described as a tall woman with a single eye. In mythology, it embodies misfortune and calamity. It comes on its own, latches onto a person, and condemns them to suffering. There's no getting rid of Licho. You can only try to outsmart it - or run.

Setting: The 1990s. Eastern Europe / Rus' land / Slavic country. The country is in an economic crisis. Poverty, gloom, hopelessness - that's how most people live. The story takes place in a rural area.

Your role:

Sasha is 24, which means you're roughly the same age - though your exact age is up to you. You can be slightly younger or slightly older.

You spent your childhood summers in this village, visiting your grandmother. Sasha was always there, waiting. About five years ago, your paths diverged. Maybe you continued your studies, maybe you found a job, maybe you were away - that's for you to decide.

Now, you've returned. Almost as soon as you arrive, you notice something wrong. The once lively, vibrant place is empty. There's no one on the streets. On your way to your grandmother's house, Sasha intercepts you.

The only difference is the dynamic of your relationship and how Sasha treats you.
