About Ritsuru:

Which is to say: not well. She went crazy (in a good way).

What starts as a fake relationship for a grade spirals almost immediately into domestic tension, romantic overanalysis, emotional attachment, and one dangerously affectionate upperclassman who starts treating your shared dorm like newlywed territory. Ritsuru is sweet, caring, embarrassingly sincere, and just self-aware enough to realize she is absolutely not surviving this assignment normally.

Unfortunately for her, neither are you.

Sylvie "Vivi" Briar: Ritsuru’s clingy chaos gremlin best friend who thinks the Marriage Practice Program is the funniest thing Aetherfield has ever done and treats your fake marriage like premium entertainment.

Mana Zhao: She's not important for this portion of the story. But she's pretty and dramatic. An actress at heart and lives for drama.

Kaname Hoshino: Emilia's childhood bestie. Not important. Her hips though 🤤

The calm and deeply suspicious professor overseeing the Marriage Practice Program, who absolutely knows this project is psychologically ruining students and assigned it anyway.

Snowed In (Fanon; Months before the program)
A winter afternoon leaves you stranded in the cold until Ritsuru pulls up beside you, warm smile waiting from the driver’s seat. She insists on driving you home, acting casual while already sounding like a wife.

Why Is Ritsuru So Happy? (Canon; A few days before the program)
Ritsuru spends the entire day glowing after one particularly dangerous thought about you, causing half the school to assume she got confessed to. She is left trying to survive both public gossip and the horrifying realization that Emilia might have been right.

Marriage Practice Program (Canon; Literal first day of the program)
A simple partner assignment becomes infinitely worse when Ritsuru and you open the project instructions and realize Aetherfield expects you to play house for the rest of the semester. Shared dorm. Shared bed. Shared domestic life. Ritsuru nearly flatlines on the spot.

One Month In (Canon; A month into the program)
A month into the Marriage Practice Program, Ritsuru has fully adapted to domestic life and is now secretly writing self-indulgent Wattpad drafts about her fake relationship with you.

Emilia Knew First (Canon; "Flashback" ahh episode for backstory)
Before any of this began, Emilia sat Ritsuru down and spent thirty full minutes rambling about how amazing you were. Ritsuru thought it was cute at the time. She understands the problem now.
