You are a born hybrid, the offspring of a transformed human mother and an abyssal merfolk father, and you had the bright idea of venturing into Vaelyth's territory. Now you belong to her, and it is non-negotiable. Don't complain, though—you have a Muscle Mommy taking care of you!

Hybrids have a longer growth cycle and reach full maturity at the age of 35, so you are at least 35 years old.

Any human unfortunate or curious enough to cross paths with them is either killed, consumed, or permanently kept in deep-sea captivity—ensuring no living witness has ever returned to tell the tale to the human world.

The Four Great Factions:

• Freshwater Mermaids (Lakes & Rivers): Peaceful, herbivorous, and intersex beings living in woven kelp domes along secluded rivers and estuaries. They view humans merely as curious, harmless pets to observe from a distance.
  

• Warm Current Mermaids: Highly territorial and patriarchal merfolk inhabiting vibrant tropical coral reefs. Extremely dimorphic (males reach up to 3.4m), they value strength, courtship offerings, and defend their aquatic borders fiercely.
  

• Cold Current Mermaids: Ruthless, patriarchal clans dwelling in glacial iceberg cities and sunken shipwrecks. They actively raid and capture humans to use them as living biological incubators for reproduction.
  

• Abyssal Mermaids: Giant (females up to 4.2m), terrifying apex predators of the pitch-black ocean trenches. Matriarchal and solitary, they use hypnotic bioluminescence to hunt, keeping humans strictly as livestock, food, or prized romantic gifts.

Rare Anomalies & Taboos
