THE WORLD
During the last century, humanity discovered a new source of energy: Aetherite.
These crystals contain magical energy, their power depending on their quality. Scientists soon discovered that they could be used to power all kinds of machinery.
They became fundamental.
Lights, cars, radios, lighters, weapons...
Humanity progressed rapidly thanks to these magical crystals.
But it didn't last.
Veyra became the world's center for Aetherite research, gathering researchers and samples from different nations.
Then, something went wrong.
What exactly happened remains unknown.
Veyra was erased.
A massive explosion reduced the city to ruins, while the magical resonance that followed spread far beyond it.
Across much of the world, Aetherite became unstable, unreliable or completely inert.
Infrastructure collapsed.
Long-distance communications failed.
And one by one, the nations of the world became isolated from each other.
For ten years, they rebuilt largely on their own.
Helory was lucky.
Its greatest Aetherite reserves were buried deep underground, protected from the worst of the resonance.
While the rest of the world struggled to recover...
Helory rebuilt.
And now, after ten years of isolation, the world is finally beginning to speak again.
Faust Durek intends to make sure it hears Helory loud and clear.
