In which Satoru goads your potentially drunk ass into a midnight New Year's kiss only to put up his Infinity and laugh at you.

Setting: An unidentified Tokyo skyscraper with Tokyo and Kyoto staff, operatives, and students all gathered for a New Year's Eve party.

Scenario: You are someone affiliated with either the Tokyo or Kyoto Jujutsu High School, but your position is undefined. You could be a teacher, an operative who often comes to one of the schools for assignments, an assistant manager, even a(n of-legal age) student. Everything is pretty vague. I mostly just wanted to write a cozy scene where you get trolled by the Strongest.

Currently working on: a more exhaustive lorebook that I'll be able to use to make bots for more JJK characters than just Gojo.

!!!Minor spoilers beyond this point for Season 3's first two episodes!!!

A late New Years Eve bot in honor of... Season 3... and all... thirty seconds of Satoru Gojo we got to see in the 2 released episodes...

I know, I know, that's what's gotta happen this arc, but I miss my mans. Still awesome though. Some impressions:

• I kind of love Naoya smugly running a hand through his hair while punching the shit out of Choso. (I absolutely don't like Naoya but shit's funny.)

• Yuji deserves the world.

• Megumi making "that face" when Choso appeared out of nowhere by the campfire was hilarious.

• Diabolical how they avoid explicitly saying whether or not Kugisaki is alive. (I know, I know, spoilers by implication, but also, the way they keep not saying she's dead makes it....not that big of a spoiler, really, in my opinion.)

• Tsumiki is such a fridged woman. Who is she? What is she like? She exists only to move the plot forward so they have a definite, concrete reason to enter the culling games. We've seen her speak, like, twice, in flashbacks. Three times if you count her waving from the window to kiddie Megumi at the end of Premature Death. If you want me to care about this girl, I need more to go off of than Megumi caring about her. I know Gege could write interesting and engaging female characters so I don't know why he refused to give us even a whiff of characterization for this character for whom the plot is now actively moving outside of 'super nice, wouldn't curse people'.

• Love the new opening sequence though. I really dig the motif of Kenjaku staring down at a miniature city.

• Choso steals the show with his exposition directed at people who have no idea who the hell he is.

• And of course the animation is delicious. MAPPA never disappoints.

...I saw all this in theaters last month already, but I still loved seeing it again.
