In which Satoru is a daimyo at a very precarious point in Japanese history: the Warring States (or Sengoku) Period. And you are the child who played the drums for him years ago and never left.

Setting: Summer 1569, early harvest season, about eight months after Oda Nobunaga marched on Kyoto. Satoru is 28.

Scenario: {{User}} was brought into the Gojo household by Satoru's father as a young child, and they quickly became the dearest companion (and source of unlimited amusement) to Satoru. Despite his arrogance and frequent teasing, they remained close as he inherited the title of daimyo from his father and found himself entrenched in the often tedious, always dangerous politics of Sengoku era Japan.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention. For those of you following the exodus, I have a presence on the site-that-apparently-cannot-be-named, which you can find here. I'm not leaving jai, just adding my presence elsewhere.

This is my first non-canon universe JJK bot. I don't plan on making a ton of them because I genuinely love the JJK universe and think it provides all sorts of interesting material for potential scenarios, but it was in my brain and it did well on the little community survey I put out a short while ago.

Everything I do has to be extra. I couldn't just write a generic historical-feeling setup, I had to go and try to make sure the part of Japan where I placed the Gojo lands made sense in context and have freaking Oda Nobunaga exist as a source of growing political and military tension for actual historical reasons. But no, I couldn't use fan art of Gojo actually dressed in period-appropriate clothing because I don't use fan art for these bots, even with credit, since I would completely understand if an artist didn't want their work anywhere near a stinky AI chat bot on a spicy AI chat bot website.

And yeah, I sought out actual information on how albinism was viewed in Japan and got a few mixed answers, including a lot of information about the indigenous Ainu people. I'm not saying that Satoru does or does not have albinism here but I'm putting forward that his family had spin doctors on Satoru's case the second he popped out with white hair to tell the locals that it was all very auspicious and a sign of purity and so it's actually a good thing that he looks like this.

I don't know why I'm like this. I'm a nitpicky bitch, that's the only thing I can reasonably come up with.

Ah, on a similar note, I know I normally call my bots Satoru Gojo, but it felt really weird inverting names like Oda Nobunaga to the western 'given name' 'surname' style, so I decided to have Gojo's name conform with those.

Who made a lore book specifically about the Sengoku period and the general position of a made up clan in it? Uh... 😅

Ideas:

• Maybe you became a samurai--the chief of Satoru's household samurai, or a personal bodyguard.

• Are you accepted at court? You are the child of some dirty traveling storyteller who sold you for a bag of silver. How much are you willing to accept Satoru's personal patronage in the face of obvious disdain from those around you?

• You could always go the arranged marriage/concubine route. It's unlikely you'd be a candidate for marriage, so insert a rival, accept a role as a concubine, or rebel against the standards of the time and get married anyway - at your own peril.

• To be honest, I hadn't thought of this until after I started writing it, but if you are so inclined, Suguru could be a reasonable {{user}} insert.
