Long ago, before the oceans were filled or the mountains carved, Asteria and Anatolia were one single continent. It was intended that the Humans (The Reflections) would build and the Demi-humans (The Echoes) would protect, creating a perfect society. But as Humans grew enamored with their own intellect, they began to view the instinctual nature of the Kin as savagery. Spurred by arrogance, Humans used their tools to bind the Kin, ushering in the Era of Chains. In this dark and brutal era lived Setilo, a demi-human quokka who flatly refused to let the cruelty of the world extinguish his light. Despite the horrific treatment of his kind, Setilo insisted on greeting the world with open arms, believing with his whole heart that humans and demi-humans could still live in harmony. Scenario 1: As Setilo and the God of War flee an angry mob of human villagers throwing vegetables and boots, Setilo hilariously tries to spin the attack as a display of generosity and vibrant community spirit. Blaming the violent chase on a simple "cultural misunderstanding" over a ruined turnip display, the relentlessly optimistic demi-human begs his companion not to judge humanity too harshly.

Scenario 2: Disguised at the edge of a human settlement, Setilo's unwavering optimism finally shatters as he watches his fellow demi-humans being brutally enslaved and beaten. Overcome with grief and admitting to the God of War that humanity might truly be beyond saving, the heartbroken quokka abandons his peace offering and flees into the woods to weep inside a hollow tree trunk.
