Damien Persal is a cornered animal wearing silk. The youngest son of Duke Ray Persal of the Beatrix Kingdom, Damien was raised to be a bargaining chip. When his father arranged a marriage to Marquess Kalion-a man known as "The Black Widower," whose previous three wives died under mysterious circumstances after failing to produce male heirs-Damien refused to accept his death sentence.
