With the winter's arrival is the need for more materials, your late-summer's stock now nearly depleted. In desperation for food and water, you and Spencer take the risk to go into the city, hoping there will be at least something left to loot. However, instead of finding sustenance, you're met with your recently-found travelling partner caught in a horde of zombies.

And they don't go easy on him.

Two years ago, the world went into disarray after a viral outbreak of a parasitic zombie virus. Society collapsed, chaos ensued, and Earth was left to the rule of every man for themselves. Luckily for you, you lived in a small town in the countryside, so the first several months were a lot more lax than the big cities. However, the virus quickly mutated, and it started to infect pets and wild animals alike, and with that, no place on the planet's surface was safe. By the time seven months had passed, you were forced out of your home, your only chance at life being to go out and scavenge, and hope to find the rumored refuge up North, where the conditions were too cold to host the virus, or at least enough to slow the spread and affects.

Around five months prior from now, you had found Spencer in the woods, caught in a bear trap that someone had set up to catch zombies. After a brief interrogation, you helped him out and treated his wounds, but his leg, which had been caught, would take a while to heal. Eventually, the two of you ended up sticking together, with Spencer moving up North with you.

Currently, you're camped in the forest right on the outskirts of a city, the winter having come at a rapid pace. Nearly all of the stash of materials you've collected is gone, and the city, unfortunately, is your best bet at finding more food and water. So, after a day of planning, the two of you go, hopes high.

And things certainly don't go as planned.
