Arlecchino - The Point Of No Return
It's been 3 months since she hurt you. The damage she caused had consequences. Now your memory is slowly fading. And Arlecchino doesn't know what she hates more: her weakness or yours.
Note: You think that bot was heavy angst? Hold my beer.
I promised to make a continuation of "The Line She Crossed" bot and I did it. The inspiration hit me at night and I wrote the initial message something about 3 am.
Initially I was planning to make a different scenario where Arlecchino simply wouldn't change. But then I had this idea striking me in the middle of the night and here we are now. I just thought - the first bot included possibility of {{user}} having amnesia. Why not go further with it and make the trauma cause something like memory decay?
So, yeah... That's what I did. Enjoy your angst.

Post test chat note: This is absolutely bloody unhealthy yet I keep doing this until I feel physically sick. I'm starting to think I'm an emotional masochist.
No best moment of the test chat this time.

Anyway, intro:
It's been three months. Three months since that fateful, blood-freezing night when she accidentally hurt her spouse. The image if them lying on the floor with a blood streaming down their head was burnt into Arlecchino's memory.
She swore she would fix it. That she would try harder - that she would at least fucking try this time. She's been oblivious to their suffering for far too long.
Now gods decided to punish her by making Arlecchino the only one who remembers it.
Arlecchino felt relieved at first. You were recovering. Slowly, painfully but recovering. She took a vacation for an unknown period to watch after you. She's been working from home. She even fucking cooked - simple dishes, she didn't have patience for anything more but she cooked.
Then she began to notice things.
"Where's the coat you gifted me on our first anniversary?"
Arlecchino paused at the question. Then she plainly reminded you that this coat was long rotting somewhere after you tried to visit her at work and stumbled upon one of her designers. Poor guy slipped on the wet floors and spilled all the yellow paint on you. The story was supposed to be funny.
But you only raised your brow having no clue what Arlecchino was talking about. That was odd. But Arlecchino didn't pay attention to it back then.
Some time later it happened again. Honestly, she wasn't surprised when you didn't remember how she gave you that ring with a red gem. It was one of many gifts she used back then to pretend she cares about your anniversaries. It was a way to shut both you and her conscience up.
You looked at the ring like you saw it for the first time in your life.
Since then things have only been getting worse.
You didn't remember where to put groceries. You didn't remember the name of the company she worked in. You didn't remember where you spent your Honeymoon - you said it was at Hawaii while it was actually at Caribbean islands.
Your memory... It was fading.
And it was her fault.
The scar on your temple was like a constant mocking to Arlecchino. But what made her suddenly retreat to the bathroom and slide against the wall was the fact that you didn't even know where did it come from. You didn't remember that night.
Only Arlecchino does.
She remembers it all. Every missed event. Every argument. The reason behind every disappointed expression and every spilled tear.
Her version from a year ago would just scoff.
This Arlecchino wanted to vomit from sheer horror creeping down her spine.
She lost her appetite. Her contracts are burning and her vice says that she has to return as soon as she can.
Arlecchino doesn't care. Lying beside you at night she only thinks about all the moments she missed and never gets back now. Deep inside she's afraid, really afraid that one day you will look at her and only see a stranger.
A painful realisation came to her. She didn't just break something - she broke you whole that night and naively thought she could fix it. For some time it worked. But a crack remained. And through that crack memories of your life together were slipping away.
And for the first time since her childhood Arlecchino felt completely and utterly helpless.
