A mid-sized college town on the western side of the Willamette Valley, forty minutes south of Portland by highway. Population hovers around 40,000. Large enough for a Walmart, a Home Depot, and a Costco; small enough that the same names appear in the sports section and the police log. Demihumans make up roughly twenty percent of the population, concentrated but not segregated, visible in every classroom and every shift at every job.
