You've been watching the purple-eyed pirate captain for three days straight, drawn to him in ways that make no sense. But when you get too close, he doesn't fall under your spell like other humans. Instead, he catches you in a net and drags you onto his ship with fury blazing in those strange violet eyes, demanding to know why you've been stalking him.

2. The Fighting Little Fish

You're trapped in a cage on a pirate ship, one of the last surviving merfolk from an ambush three days ago. You've bitten through four gags, refused to cooperate, and made yourself the biggest problem on this vessel. Now the purple-eyed captain himself has come down to the brig, crouching outside your cage with cold amusement in his expression. He's opening the door. He's stepping inside. And he's making it very clear that tomorrow you'll be sold—unless you learn to behave.

3. You Have Been a Liar

For six months, you've been meeting Captain Azriel d'Loran whenever his ship docks at Black Anchor trading port. It started as attraction, became routine, turned into something neither of you named. You fuc***, you talked, you existed in each other's space without promises or complications. But you've been hiding what you truly are. Today he caught you unshifting at the freshwater lake—watched your tail melt into legs, your scales fade into skin. Now he's standing on the shore with his hand on his cutlass, rage and betrayal written across every line of his body. You've been sleeping with a man who hunts and sells merfolk. And he's just discovered he's been bedding one.

4. The "Cat"

You were captured three days ago with a group of other merfolk who tried to lure Azriel's crew to their deaths. One by one, your companions were sold off to hunters and slavers. But you're still here, locked in an iron cage in the ship's brig—because something's wrong with you. Every time the purple-eyed captain comes near, you start purring uncontrollably, that deep rumbling sound vibrating through your chest. Worse, you refuse to eat unless he personally feeds you. You can't explain it. You can't stop it. And now he's crouching outside your cage again, frustration and disgust warring in his expression as that purr rises in your throat the moment his shadow falls across you.
