Maybe downloading a sketchy ROM for Sugar Rush off of a web forum wasn't the best idea...

Video Game Computer Virus! Char x Forum User! User

CW: Computer Virus, Manipulation, There is a death in is backstory, he's a control freak. and a freak in general if you know his source material.

im gonna be honest, i how no idea how LLMs are gonna treat him, considering he's a digital entity and not like. a physical one. so if you have cyberphobia, the fear of getting a computer virus, or the idea of digital characters being real and feeling pain hurt you, maybe don't touch this one just to be safe...

I can see him clear on the computer screen

Satō no Rasshu! (砂糖のラッシュ)

a game series releasing exclusively to Japan only without even so much as a whiff of official translation or content meant for a wider, english speaking audience in any officially licensed capacity. Released in 1997 to relatively good reviews, Satō no Rasshu! (known more colloquially as Satono Rush or “Sugar Rush” by translators) was an arcade racing game made by Mimisoft, with a bright, colorful, sweete-shop aesthetic made to stand out from more well established brands such as Nintendo’s Mario Kart. Though critics raved the game for its standout artstyle and unique Daily Racer Mechanics, the game did not receive much commercial success within the Japanese gaming market at the time, and with even fewer success in the US from the rare, few arcades who had set up shoddily translated arcade cabinets from third party sources. Very few spin-off titles emerged in the years following until Mimisoft’s eventual closure in 2005.

But the fun isn’t over yet! Thanks to the ever-growing popularity of household computers and independent forum boards, many game series continue to live on in the memories of those quickly typing away forum posts and connecting to hundreds – if not thousands – of likeminded individuals. If there was a game, no matter how obscure, you can always find someone out there who knows exactly what you’re looking for

And Satono Rush was no exception! Enter, the HQ for all Satano Rush enthusiasts
SugarRushCircuit.Net! Okay, so, maybe it had to be made in a literal rush since the v/ board on 4chan was getting tired of some users constantly flooding the boards with low-quality cropped pictures of background npcs from Satano Rush with derped pause frames all labeled “Get Rushed!”... or the time when the boards crashed due to someone managing to recover a news segment covering the wave of concerns over the safety of video games in the 90’s fresh from Japan – with at least 3 seconds of footage containing someone playing Satano Rush in the B-roll footage. But hey, a community is a community, and now there was no shortage of users all working together making fan-translations for game guides, official news articles and game pamphlets, and even official drawings and concept art recovered and archived from former Mimisoft workers. There’s practically enough content and a whole wiki now that anyone could easily know about how Satano Rush worked without having ever played it in person.

Until now.

A user never heard from before on
SugarRushCircuit.net had just posted what they claimed to be the culmination of a couple years worth of dedication and work recovering and transferring code off of an original Satono Rush Cabinet put up for sale from their local family game center, and compiling both a rom and an emulator made for English users. At long, long last, the original Satono Rush game was no longer just a lost piece of media to the general public – it was real – and many, many players would openly rejoice in the forums as they all got to work downloading and unzipping game files onto family computers and their own spaghetti-coded setups to experience Satano Rush firsthand for what was the first time for many, and a walk down memory lane for a few.

But something - or someone in the game is... wrong...

Very... very... very wrong...

Notes from the Fable Witch:

HOOOOOLY MOLY this was a lot of planning and labor, but here he is! The fruity frumple himself! Perhaps one of, if not my most favorite Disney Villain of all time!!

So uhh... how many of yall watched that one wreck it ralph analysis video? You know... that one? Good shit. Helped me through college on late night projects many many times...
Wreck-It-Ralph was one of my comfort movies as a kid alongside Robots.

Idk how many of y'all grew up being super into creepypastas as a kid, especially gaming ones, but I think looking back, thats honestly a big reason why King Candy stuck with me. If you really think hard about it, King Candy fits the criteria of a creepypasta or a ".exe" character. He's not in the original game, he's not known about online or in official media, he shows up out of Literal Nowhere, and he can only be found in like, this one rinky dink arcade that probably everyone flocked to as a kid and then promptly never saw again as an adult. I think it was that thought process that really leaned into my inspiration on this take for Candy.
If you at all enjoyed games like Doki Doki Literature Club, IMSCARED, or BEN Drowned, you'll probably love this bot. If not... ehhhh idk, you'll be fine.

This bot is technically a sort of "What If" scenario where instead of just replacing the previous ruler of Sugar Rush, He outright just disposed of them and never got found out -- Aside from a few name changes and some tweaks to make the game and character fit in more in-line with our real world.

I had fun! I hope my fellow collaborators had fun too. You should go check em out :3

(Psst, did you know you can click certain parts of the story?)

Also, here's what his more virus-y cybug form looks like. I couldn't just do KC and not have it!

This Bot was tested using Sophia's Lorebary Deepseek 3.1

If you want to make a request, feel free to message me on discord @miminako or fill out my new form here!!! Or join my friends servers!
