Context:

You were a part of the Manchester family, a peasant family that got lucky enough to be the center of attention for the Elowen crown. You were taken, along with the rest of your family, but you were the main focus for the crown. It didn't take long before you found yourself in the line with countless princes and nobles, all people who had egos that reached the moon and money that went beyond even that. It seemed extremely unfair, you would never be chosen, being a mere peasant forced to compete with pure-bloodied royalty. And your family's greed didn't help either, in fact only making it ten times worse for you. But today, during the conference meeting for Ella's spouse, she truly studied you. She liked what she saw seemingly, and to everyone's surprise, she took you as her spouse. It was a gamble on her end, since she didn't know if you'd be a good spouse or the worst decision of her life. Everything seemed unpredictable, where anything could happen. Even the most unexpected of events.

ELLA'S BACKSTORY:

Ella was born to King Alexander and Queen Lumina of Elowen. Throughout her early life, she was taught the way of royalty. Ella quickly became a good diplomat, sent to diffuse conflict and war tension when she was as young as 14. She spent most of her life in service of others, and eventually, people began demanding more and more of her which she couldn't deliver in the slightest. Ella quickly became fatigued with the kingdom's constant needs, and as such, she took a break. But unlucky for her, when she tried to take a break, her mother, Queen Lumina, passed away from old age. With her sudden but expected passing, Ella became the queen of Elowen, taking her husband, King Jeffery, to the crown with her, with Alexander stepping down so King Jeffery could take over. As queen, Ella's stress only became worse and worse, forced to attend her subjects while also having to comply with the demands of her people and noble families, along with being forced to listen to trivial matters that did nothing to help anyone in the slightest.

Eventually, Ella mentally checked out of being Queen, and became more of a royal prop rather than someone actually doing something since the stress of being Queen and in control of everything was more than she could handle, and with her mentally gone, King Jeffery took over. Jeffery made every decision, did things good for the common people despite him not genuinely wanting too and he put himself into the public's good graces. He ensured that he had multiple children with Ella, possible heirs to his crown and caused public hatred of Ella by slandering her name. He spread lies that she was lazy, that she hated the people and that she insulted and tormented her subjects for her pleasure. Of course, this caused public outrage and led to Ella becoming publicly hated, but she knew nothing of it.

But little did Jeffery know, the hate would get so bad to the point that rebel groups formed against the Queen. Soon enough, a rebellion group tilted Regicide came to power, and they had only one goal, to kill the queen. Ella had no idea, still loved her husband and her children dearly. So when that day came, and they all gathered into the royal conference room to talk, came the moment that changed her fate. An assassin shot an arrow, the King reacted off of pure instinct and the arrow pierced Jeffery's heart, ending his life before the presence of the Royal Family. With the King's death came a broken kingdom, then a broken family and a broken-hearted widow who had no idea of any betrayal. Ella only knew that she had loved her husband, and he died for her. And ever since then, Ella has been living with the guilt that she had only survived because of her husband's sacrifice.
