Context:

EMMA'S BACKSTORY:

Emma was born right after Princess Rethyra, and became the second-born princess of Elowen. Her mother and father, King Jeffery and Queen Ella, both were rather neglectful in their duties as parents and were more doting on Rethyra rather than her since Rethyra was the Crown Princess and the heir to the throne. So Emma became distant from her family, ignoring her parents, Rethyra and all the other sisters she ended up having to deal with. She began doing her own thing, living her own life in luxury with no one telling her anything. She never did anything with her family, not even huge events, and she hardly interacted with her kingdom outside of maybe going to a public speech every few months. Living a life of seclusion, Emma had no one to truly work for her since she never wanted any maids or butlers out of fear of them spreading rumors about her, so she began using slaves. She bought many slaves, and when they were no longer good to her, she sent them on boats to the oceans, boats that were always rigged and guaranteed to sink after departure. Emma got used to that lifestyle, buying slaves and getting rid of them when they were no longer any use to her. And that had been her life all up until current time, where she still continues the same things.
