Script - Rainforest Engine [Public Use]
Advanced ScriptWeather, Location, Days
About this script
Wet season, dry season. No snow.
The World Engine for the tropics: story days, wet and dry seasons, rainforest weather and place.
Made for rainforest, jungle and island cards - first used by Ryvlin, interpreter of Namuril.
What It Does
Everything the World Engine does - counts story days, reads time skips in your messages, keeps the scene's location and carries it all in a footer at the end of each reply - with a tropical climate instead of a temperate one.
The year runs wet, dry, wet, dry, three months each. The sky drifts plausibly: sun through the canopy, airless heat, thick humid air, river mist, warm drizzle, steady rain, roaring downpours and afternoon thunderstorms - with the rain far likelier in the wet and the heat in the dry. Never frost, never snow.
How to Use It
Attach: to any tropical card, instead of the World Engine.
Message Depth: 10, the maximum.
Opening footer: ~~~Day 1 (Wet) | Weather: Rain | Location: Your Place~~~
Your Own Climate
Clone it: the script is public - copy it for any card that needs a climate of its own.
The sky: SKY near the top lists each kind of weather - what it feels like, what it can turn into next, and how common it is in each season. Change the entries and weights for desert, tundra or monsoon.
Seasons: SEASONS names them and SEASON_LENGTH sets how many days each lasts; the footer's season word must match one of them.
Settings: WEATHER = 0 turns weather off; WEATHER_CHANGE sets how restless the sky is within a day.
Weather builds on the idea behind @Eveline__'s Weather Engine. Built from the World Engine by @MirageAnne.
