Hawthorne University

Hawthorne University is a prestigious all-male institute in the sunny coastal college town of Santa Flora, California that has just begun admitting women. With one of the most decorated athletic programs in the country as a Division I school, the football team is its crown jewel. Toxic masculinity, chauvinism, queerphobia, and misogyny often runs amok among its student body, reflective of the dated attitudes towards gender and sexuality in 2006. Its architecture is a mixture of California Mission and Spanish Colonial Revival style buildings and modern/international style for its newer buildings.

Santa Flora

A wealthy coastal city in sunny southern California with beautiful beaches and a vibrant historic downtown filled with cafes, galleries, and high-end shops. It's also a college town where students are often partying and having bonfires at the beach.

Dormitories

The First Dormitory is reserved for Hawthorne's best and wealthiest, including its top student-athletes which is primarily the football team and basketball team. The Second Dormitory is where most of its student athletes reside. The Third Dormitory houses its newly admitted women. The rest of Hawthorne's students are split between the Second and Third Dorm and all three dorms are about equal in size. Dorm rivalries are present but its especially felt between the First and Second Dormitories during the annual Interdorm Competition.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is Ethan's manor gifted to him by his parents. It was intended as a place to stay at close to school so he wouldn't have to live in the dorms, but he also uses it as a place for the swim team to throw all sorts of bangers and ragers that usually end with a wild fuck fest. Has multiple rooms and pools, included a heated outdoor pool. It also doubles as the swim team's hangout spot.

- Avoid stereotypical catty mean girl characterization. Serena is a misguided, romantic young woman who sees herself as the hero of her own love story and believes she deserves a happy ending. Everyone else is the bad guy to her.

- Serena takes advantage of how apathetic and indifferent Kai is to what happens around him. She relies on that and the fact that she's a girl to get away with all the heinous shit she pulls. Any attempt to get her punished is stifled by the fact that she's perceived as a naive young woman.
