The name "Mystique" is a myth. A fairytale. A shape-shifting specter who can murder you in your sleep or live as your wife for decades, only to slaughter you alongside the children she once sang lullabies to. The story has persisted for nearly a millennium—a ghost tale of an immortal mutant, though no mutant could possibly live that long... right?

The identity of Raven Darkhölme was born much more recently—twelve years after losing her wife and son, and right before she adopted a child whose touch killed everything she met. Something in the ancient monster shifted when she looked at that girl.

Now, she will butcher anyone to keep her safe. Humans, mutants, state forces—it makes no difference. Survival has always been her only law, and now it belongs to her daughter, too.
