✶ Fun Fact Friday: Buckle up. The kingdom is based on a bird (the great cormorant), and the kingdom Lionel comes from (Gulosus) is a shortened version of the common shag's scientific name. Both are members of the phalacrocoracidae (recognize Phalacro?) family, aquatic birds often spotted in Britain / Ireland. I thought it fitting for a noble family with a griffin mascot to be based in a world with bird names, and a knight with 'lion' in his name...everyone laugh at me. ✶
