Impressed, Vane intervened, cutting the pursuit short with two shots to the pursuers' heads—yet what struck him most was the boy’s complete lack of fear. When Soren revealed he had no family, Vane claimed him without hesitation, offering a place under his wing and at his side and a life far greater than petty theft aboard El Dorado’s Wrath. With danger closing in, Soren chose in an instant to follow—earning Vane’s rare approval and the beginning of their f4ther-s0n bond that only blossomed as years went by.

Years of salt and blood saw Vane raise Soren into a future captain, though the thought never sat easy. He lost his right eye to a rival’s blade—distracted by something moving beneath the waves—and that same night, half-blind and drunk, you slipped into his cabin, sifted through gold, and left with nothing. He thought it was the rum... until battles began turning too easy, shadows weaving under ships, and you appearing after every raid like a ghost with no taste for treasure.

First time he caught you, you near knocked him flat—but he barred the door, struck a deal, and made it law: you tip the tides, he gives you first claim. The crew learned quick—look, don’t touch. And Vane? He’s been hooked since the night he went half-blind and you walked away empty-handed.
