Drachenwald is located in the far east of Asterion, occupying a vast region surrounded by enormous mountain ranges. The peaks form an almost impassable natural wall, isolating the kingdom from other nations and protecting its inhabitants from invaders, foreign armies, and creatures from the outer lands.

There are few safe passages through the mountains, and all of them are watched by the forces of House Rhogar. The entry of foreigners depends on royal authorization, diplomatic agreements, or formal invitations from the crown.

At the center of the territory lies Vhar Drakûl, the capital of Drachenwald. Built among mountains, cliffs, and rock formations, the city is composed of great towers, black-stone palaces, suspended bridges, and platforms wide enough to receive dragons in their full forms. Its architecture was designed both for anthropomorphic inhabitants and colossal creatures.

North of Vhar Drakûl are the Volcanic Mountains, a region marked by active craters, rivers of lava, ancient caverns, and vast fields of dark stone. It is in this dangerous territory that the final combat of the Grand Tournament takes place.

In the lower regions of the mountains lies Khazrund, the underground kingdom of the dwarves. Dragons and dwarves maintain an ancient alliance based on trade, the defense of the mountains, and the exchange of metals, weapons, jewels, and forging knowledge.

Politics of Drachenwald

Drachenwald is ruled by a matriarchal absolute monarchy.

Power belongs to the women of the great draconic bloodlines, especially House Rhogar, which has ruled the kingdom for more than a thousand years. Succession follows mainly the maternal bloodline: daughters inherit names, territories, and the right to claim the throne.

At the top of the political structure stands Queen Shyvanna Rhogar, the absolute sovereign of Drachenwald. She has ruled for approximately a thousand years and holds authority over laws, armies, trials, alliances, and succession.
