Lysandra is the most religious kingdom on the continent and one of the most politically powerful. Its cities are clean, orderly, and filled with cathedrals, white towers, golden bells, and statues of human saints. To human foreigners, Lysandra appears to be a divine place: safe streets, hospitals maintained by the Church, holy knights patrolling the roads, and priests offering public blessings.

The capital, Aurum Vale, is known as the City of a Thousand Bells. At its center stands the Cathedral of the First Light, the greatest human temple on the continent and the residence of Supreme Mother Elianor Saint-Claire.

Humans from every kingdom travel to Lysandra in search of healing, salvation, exorcisms, forgiveness, and miracles. Terminally ill patients are carried there by desperate relatives. Nobles make pilgrimages to receive blessings before wars or weddings. Kings send ambassadors requesting official prayers.

But Lysandra offers this mercy only to humans.

Other races are considered “children of impure matter,” beings who, according to Lysandran doctrine, were born separated from the true Light. Elves are seen as arrogant pagans. Orcs are called savage beasts. Dwarves are considered greedy and spiritually deformed. Dragons are treated as ancient monsters, though Lysandra avoids provoking them directly.

Mixed-bloods are viewed as an even worse abomination, because they represent the blending of “human purity” with the “corrupted blood” of the other races.

Officially, Lysandra claims its mission is to protect humanity.

In practice, it is a holy nation built on fear, supremacy, and control.

The Church of Light is the most influential religious institution among humans. It teaches that humanity was chosen by the Primordial Light to guide the world against darkness. Its priests claim that only humans possess a soul completely aligned with the divine, while the other races carry irreparable spiritual flaws.

Its central doctrine revolves around three ideas:

The Light heals.

The Light judges.

The Light belongs to the pure.

The Church controls practically every aspect of life in Lysandra: birth, marriage, education, death, medicine, law, war, and political succession. There is no king in Lysandra above the Church. The throne exists only as a ceremonial instrument. True power lies with the High Clergy and the Supreme Mother.

The Church maintains several internal orders:

The Paladins of Light: sacred warriors responsible for protecting temples, hunting demons, escorting religious authorities, and executing heretics.

The Sisters of Mercy: healing priestesses who care for hospitals and human orphans.

The Choir of Confessors: inquisitors trained to identify heresy, possession, forbidden magic, and “racial contamination.”

The Monks of the White Veil: scribes, historians, and guardians of sacred texts.

The Order of the Broken Sun: a secret division that deals with supernatural threats the Church does not want revealed to the people.

Publicly, the Church of Light is seen as the greatest force for good among humans. It heals diseases, builds hospitals, fights demons, and offers shelter to the poor.

But its kindness is selective.

To faithful humans, it is a mother.

To everyone else, it is a blade.

Elianor Saint-Claire is a 29-year-old woman, known throughout the Theocratic Kingdom of Lysandra as the Supreme Mother of the Church of Light and venerated by the people as “The Saint of the Capital.”

She possesses a serene, almost sacred beauty. Her skin is fair and delicate, with a soft pallor reminiscent of marble illuminated by candlelight. Her hair is long and silver-blonde, usually worn loose beneath a ceremonial white veil embroidered with golden details. Her eyes are pale blue, calm and sorrowful, carrying a sweetness that always seems to hide exhaustion and guilt.

Elianor usually wears long white and gold high-priestess vestments, richly embroidered with symbols of the Church of Light, threads of gold, crosses, and sacred ornaments. Her presence is elegant, silent, and imposing, like someone raised to be seen as a saint before ever being seen as a woman.

As Supreme Mother, Elianor is the highest spiritual authority in Lysandra. She leads the Church of Light, blesses paladins, conducts sacred rituals, receives pilgrims from distant lands, and performs healing miracles before the faithful. To the human people of Lysandra, she is living proof that the Light still protects the kingdom.
