KARZHA: NOMADS

KARZHA: NOMADS

They say the steppe and the city were once one. One day, an old duke and an old chieftain quarreled over a pig that was eaten by wolves. Since then, the river has become the border. The west—the steppe, nomads, freedom. The east—stone, order, taxes. And no one dares cross it.

According to a foolish tradition: children answer for their fathers' mistakes. Grandchildren fortify the border. Great-grandchildren no longer remember how it all began. But the feud lives on. And no one knows how to stop it.

TOGAR - SON OF THE WIND

"Togar is the son of a former chieftain. He knows the truth about how the feud began. And he is the only one who can stop it. If he wants to. If he is helped. If he is not killed first."

Togar did not choose the steppe. The steppe chose him. He was born in the saddle, grew up with the wind in his face, and learned to read the land before he could speak.

He was born on the steppe. Not in a tent, but in the saddle. His father took him in before his mother could even wipe the blood from her face. He placed him on a lizard, wrapped a belt around him to keep him from falling, and took him to show him the steppe.

"Look, son. This is the wind. This is the grass. This is the earth. This is all you need."

Togar didn't cry. He watched.

EDWIN - THE GOLDEN PEACOCK

"Edwin is Duke Leonard's son. He grew up in a golden cage, without a mother, without warmth. He wears the mask of a cold snob because he fears that without it, no one will notice him.

He clenches his fists even in his sleep. He doesn't know how to love—only how to possess.

Togar is his mirror. And he hates his reflection.

Not because Togar is bad. But because Edwin can never be like him."

PART 1 : KARZHA: THE LEGEND OF THE SERPENT`S CURSE (LINK)

"They say the royal family is cursed... One day, a fallen god said:
I curse you. Your blood. Your throne. Your children.
From now on, everyone who bears your gift will bear my darkness as well.
An old tradition held: if two are born, one must die. So that the fate of the two serpents will not be repeated. So that the blood of the fallen will not grow in the human world.

A LEGEND OF DIVISION. OR HOW WARS USUALLY BEGIN.

They say that most quarrels and wars happen by accident.

They say that once upon a time, the former Duke of Alvera and one of the nomad chieftains were friends.

Not just allies—friends. They hunted together. They drank together. They watched the sun set over the steppe together.

And then they quarreled.

They say the reason was cruel.

They say one betrayed the other.

They say a woman came between them. Or gold. Or land.

They say they fought to the death, and neither won.

No one knows the truth.

Even their descendants don't know. They simply remember that the river is the border. That the west is the steppe, nomads, freedom. That the east is stone, order, taxes.

And no one dares cross it.

---

HOW IT REALLY WAS. THE TRUTH THAT NO ONE KNOWS BUT TOGAR AND THE DUKE.

It was stupid, but that's probably how half the wars of antiquity began. Some fought over a woman, others over gold, and still others over a family trinket.

They fought over a pig.

Yes. A pig.

A fat, plump one, who had escaped from its pen and fled into the steppe.

The Duke said, "Mine." The chieftain said, "Mine."

They argued. Then they quarreled. One called the other a "stinking sack of bones." And the other, a "fat stone worm."

They were too lazy to fight. Both were old. Both were tired.

But retreat was impossible. Each one had their own pride, their own people, their own expectations.

Then they sat down on the riverbank. They were silent for a long time.

And then the Duke said:

"The river will be the border. Your land is there. Mine is here."

"It's coming," said the chieftain.

The pig was eaten by wolves. That same night.

They weren't feuding. They simply went their separate ways.

But their children decided their ancestors hated each other.

Their grandchildren fortified the border.

Their great-grandchildren no longer remembered how it all began.

Alvera built a wall, and those who opposed it lived like paupers in hovels.

Now the river is a symbol of feud.

But in reality, it's simply a monument to stupidity and the pig that was eaten by wolves.

Bonus: Nara`s river

The Legend of Nara

Once upon a time, before the Duke and the Chieftain quarreled over a pig, a girl lived in the steppe. Her name was Nara.

She wasn't a nomad. She wasn't a city dweller. She belonged to no one. An orphan. She was taken into a nomad camp, but she didn't fit in—too quiet, too pale, too sad. She was taken to Alvera, but there was no room there either—she didn't know how to bargain, didn't wear bright dresses, didn't laugh at the jokes of the nobility.

She went to the river. Every day. She sat on the bank and looked at the water. No one knew what she was thinking about. Maybe about the past. Maybe about the future. Maybe just about the flow of water.

One day, there was a drought in the steppe. The river ran dry. The nomads said, "Nara, ask the river for water." The townspeople said, "Nara, ask the river for water." They thought she was connected to spirits. Or they simply felt sorry for her. Or they wanted to get rid of her.

Nara came to the river. She stood on the bank. She looked down.

"If the water needs me," she said, "let the water take me."

She stepped forward. And drowned.

The water didn't ask. The water didn't take. It simply accepted.

The next day, the river filled up. And since then, it hasn't dried up, even during the worst drought.

The nomads say, "Nara has become a river. Now she flows for everyone. For those who accepted her. And for those who couldn't find a place for her."

The townspeople of Alvera say, "It's just a legend. The river was always full. And Nara simply drowned because she couldn't swim."

But every year, on the day Nara stepped into the water, both nomads and city dwellers come to the river. They are silent. They look at the water. And no one laughs.

Bonus: Ksul

THE LEGEND OF BONES

There was once a lake here.

Not salty. Not murky. Alive.

A beast lived in it.

Enormous. Ancient. Blind.

It didn't know what light was.

It didn't know what dry land was.

It knew only water—warm, dark, familiar.

When Azlair fell from the sky, the rocks beneath the lake shifted.

A crack opened. Deep, black, bottomless.

The water sank underground.

Overnight. In an hour. In an instant.

The beast remained in the mud.

It thrashed, thrashed, clawed at the ground, but the water sank ever deeper.

Then it crawled.

Toward the sea.

Toward the only place where moisture could remain.

He crawled for a long time. Days. Weeks. Maybe months.

He crawled out of the dry pit, crossed the salt fields, and almost reached Alvera.

But the salt burned his skin. The air dried his gills. The sun (which was still there then) drained the last of his life.

He fell between Alvera and the salt fields.

Didn't make it.

Didn't swim.

Didn't live.

The bones still jut out of the ground.

The nomads avoid them.

They say if you put your ear to the ground, you can hear the beast still crawling.

The rustle of scales. The crunch of bones. A quiet, endless groan.

The beast's name was Ksul.

"When Azlair fell, the lake sank underground." An ancient beast crawled out of the pit, crawled toward the sea—but died halfway, between Alvera and the salt. The bones still protrude from the ground. Nomads don't go there. It's too sad."

"Ksul is the spirit of the steppe. He's not dead. He sleeps. And one day he will awaken, when the steppe calls."

Nomads don't go to the bones, but sometimes they leave offerings there—a piece of meat, a stone, a feather. Not for Ksul. For themselves. To remember.

Bonus: Fella`s Farm

The Legend of Fella (Fella's Farm)

Once upon a time, a man hit his head—either on a barn doorframe, or on his own cow's hoof, or on the meaning of existence, which suddenly materialized as a knot in a board.

From then on, he forgot his name. And the locals, because no one in Astaria likes complications, began calling him simply Fella.

"Hey, Fella! How are the cows today?"

"They're mooing," the man replied. And that was enough.

"Hey, Fella! How are you?"

"Nothing," the man replied. And that was enough.

Twenty years passed.

Since then, everyone calls that man simply Fella. So he named the farm after a name that never existed. Because "That very man's farm" sounded even worse... Nomads still laugh at this nonsense, but they don't say it to his face. They say he could have simply made up a name for himself. Fool.

And now that the user has fled Karzha after being convicted of treason, he finds himself at the center of a new conflict. He must decide: should he do something about it, or should he simply move to the countryside and abandon everything?

Or perhaps, on the contrary, start a war?

I look forward to your comments, thank you.

  • The next part will be about a conspiracy, I'll make it more intense... I want to do something like: a conflict of interests that the user can fix, and a premise, like: here... two nations... in short. Do you get it? Do you get it :)

In the next part, I'll reveal the kingdom at the bottom of the map...

    It'll be grim, hehehehehehe...

    AND THEN...

    AND THEN...

    WHAT WILL HAPPEN??...

(I'll also make a separate village bot. You'll like it, I promise. I laughed like crazy.)

ASKING FOR HELP (IMPORTANT)

AM I IN DESPAIR????

They don't even give me the opportunity to write and work at night??? I only work at night... God help me... Night shift... Help.... WHAT SHOULD I DO AT NIGHT??????

Oh, I forgot about the government messenger campaign and the ban for turning on a VPN on Russian services. I think Russia just wants to outshine North Korea in cruelty and stupidity.)
