KARZHA: THE LEGEND OF THE SERPENT`S CURSE
They say the royal family is cursed... One day, a fallen god said:
I curse you. Your blood. Your throne. Your children.
From now on, everyone who bears your gift will bear my darkness as well.
An old tradition held: if two are born, one must die. So that the fate of the two serpents will not be repeated. So that the blood of the fallen will not grow in the human world.
Karzha - is the story of how the creator gods abandoned the world. How two serpents—their children—feuded over the sky. How one cast the other down, cursing them in eternal stone.
This is the story of how the blood of the fallen poisoned the rivers. How people drank it without knowing it. How they grew tails and scales. How the poor neighborhoods became filled with ugliness, and the nobles turned away.
This is the story of kings who killed their children out of fear of a curse. Of a queen who blocked the crib with her body and died. Of a prince who was called a monster before he could speak.
And of you. The knight who stands by his bedside, sword in hand. The priests whisper, "Kill." The king is silent. The sister weeps.
No one knows if killing will make things better. But if you don't kill, darkness will consume everything.
Welcome to Karzha. A world where even the gods lie.

THE LEGEND OF THE TWO SNAKES
#1 GODS
Long ago, the creator gods left the world immediately after its creation.
They didn't just leave. They left behind a power that kept the world from crumbling into nothingness. And statues—faceless, silent. People pray to them to this day. Out of fear. Out of awe. Out of hope that one day the gods will return.
But the gods never returned.
And then came the time of those who remained.
Those who were the children of the gods. The two snakes.
#2 TWO SNAKES
Two snakes. Two brothers. Children of the gods.
The golden serpent Azragon and the black serpent Azlair. They were supposed to maintain order. To keep the world from falling apart.
Azragon was the epitome of wisdom, balance, and tranquility. He watched over the earth, over time, over the blossoming of the world, over the rising of the sun, over its golden scales, filling even the darkest corners of the earth.
Azlair was darkness. Chaos. He watched the night, how wars raged, how shadows were born, how fear grew in the hearts of men. His brother's scales were like sunlight. Azragon was worshiped. He was prayed to. He was loved.
Azlair was feared. Sacrifices were made to him. Children were frightened with him around the fire. His body cast a shadow that terrified even the bravest.
#3 DESIRE
One day, the black serpent said:
"I don't want to be in your shadow. I want to be respected, too. To have celebrations held in my honor. To have my name sung at dawn, not whispered in fear before sleep."
Azragon was silent. His golden scales glowed in the rays of the setting sun. He looked at his brother with a sadness that his brother didn't understand—or didn't want to notice.
"You don't understand," Azragon said quietly. "They fear you because you're strong. Because you're the boundary. You're what stops chaos."
"I am chaos!" Azlair roared. "I am the night you endure, but will never love!"
Azragon shook his head.
You are my brother. I love you. But I can't make people love what they fear.
Azlair froze. Then, quietly, almost calmly, he said:
"Then I will make them fear you."
And he went into the desert. There, in the red sands, where no one had heard his name, he conceived the plan that would destroy everything.
#4 FALL AND CURSE
Azlair decided to prove he was stronger. That they feared him for a reason. That he could take back from the world what his brother had given him.
He desired to drink the sacred river that flowed into the Carramoh Sea. Not because he was thirsty. But because this river was the world's main artery, created by Azragon. The river brought life. It flowed with the power left by the creator gods.
Azlair wanted to absorb this power. To become like his brother. To finally be loved.
He drank. And the water flowed into his black maw. The earth cracked. Plants died. People fell dead.
Azragon didn't want war. He wanted to stop his brother. He tried to speak, to plead, to warn. But Azlair didn't hear. Overconfidence and anger were his undoing.
And then Azragon struck.
The two serpents clashed in the sky. Their roar shook the mountains. Azragon hurled his brother from the sky to the ground. The black serpent fell so hard that its body shattered on the rocks.
He bled to death on the sand. His blood stained the desert red—forever. And his body petrified, turning into a mountain like a dragon's spine. A mountain riddled with caves, from which creatures now crawl
"You wanted to be feared," he said. "Now you will be a terror to those who know no light."
At that moment, Azragon cursed his brother to eternal existence as a stone statue.
And at that moment, with his last breath, Azlair raised his paw to the sun, to where his brother had disappeared, and uttered his last words of response.
"I curse you. Your blood. Your throne. Your children."
"From now on, everyone who bears your gift will bear my darkness in their hearts."
Perhaps this was the true reason for the curse of the royal line. Not envy. Not anger. But the last word of a dying god who did not want to die alone.
"I curse... you..."
His voice was quiet, like the cracking of stone, but the wind carried it across the desert.
That day, the whole world heard the fall of a god.
That day, the sand turned red.
And there was no more water.
A TALE OF A CURSE
Betrayal of the Serpent
Humans didn't always have tails. That came later. With the years. With every sip of water from the rivers that fed on the blood of the fallen. With every chance union between demigods and mortals.
Azlair's blood flowed not only through the royal family. It was in the water. In the earth. In food. And it changed people. Slowly. Imperceptibly.
Some grew tails. Some grew scales on their hands. Some even saw their eyes change color.
But the poor weren't so lucky. They lived closer to the desert. They drank from the rivers that flowed from the red sands. Their water was the dirtiest. The most "rich" in blood.
And now, in the poor quarters of Karzha, live the ugliest, the most "snake-like" people. With crooked tails, incomplete scales, cloudy eyes. The nobility despises them. Calls them "scum" and "the blood of the fallen."
But the truth is, they are a living reminder of a curse that no one wanted to notice.
CROWN TRADITION
Azragon is depicted as a sea serpent, holding the ocean—the force of life—in its claws. He descended, bestowing a blessing on the royal family, leaving them a portion of his power so they could protect their home from the dark force that seeped from the wound of the fallen brother.
But they say the blood of the second brother runs in the royal family as well. That's why, when two children are born, one resembles the fallen brother.
The kings of kings followed this legend. When twins were born, one of the children died. No one asked how. But everyone knew.
They say that when the prince and princess were born, the king wanted to kill one of the children. But he couldn't figure out which of them would grow up to be like the fallen serpent from the legends. Son or daughter?
The mother rebelled. She said that none of her children would be like the serpent from the stories. She shielded her child from the sword.
Then she died.
And he grew. They grew.
And the older they got, the clearer it became which of them was the "fallen."
I tried to draw a map...
