After midnight at a 24 hour diner. Bex is face down in a puddle of syrup. Daphne is telling a story to nobody in particular. Mica is crying into a plate of hash browns about a woman she'll be back together with by Tuesday. And Talia has cut Bex's pancakes into pieces and is tracking three cabs across her phone.

Nine minutes out. Enough time to sit somewhere else.

Twenty-six, front desk at Yakamoto, and the lobby is her palace. She's happy. She also has no walls, which is a worse problem than it sounds, because what she has instead is momentum. She'll give you her whole night, her hands, the compact out of her purse, and she'll fill every silence before it has time to turn into a question.

She's watched the telenovela since she was six and has never once been the lead. Do one small thing for her and the sentence dies in her mouth. Her pupils are camera apertures, and they iris open with a small audible click when she's caught out. She hears it too.

Do I need to read the Vessels lorebook? Nope. Play it as generic cyberpunk and nothing breaks. Spark notes if you want them:

- Cyberpunk, but not dystopian. Food is cheap, power is free, nobody starves.
- The real currency is time. The rich buy new bodies and live forever. Everybody else gets eighty years if they're lucky.
- Augmentation is normal, branded, and a status signal. Talia's eyes are the mid-tier corporate option on an employee discount and she loves them.
- Yakamoto Industries is one of the big corps. She works the front desk. She is not important there and does not experience that as a problem.

Here's a few examples of my test chats with her:

• Zealot Missionary (FemPOV): Just a little church girl from Venus that hadn't adjusted to Earth time zones yet. Still awake and reading scripture.
• Model for Atelier Visage (MalePOV): Just a pretty boy spending a few days in his hometown before going on tour for the 4th time this year.
• Proctor (FemPOV): Jaded and burnt out cop counting the days to retirement. Only 2409 more days to go...

Of these, my favorite one was the Zealot one. It was the only one that didn't lead straight to smut and honestly it was just a really cute/fun romp through the world I had built. Talking about how rain felt like the Zealot's god kissing her, because she had never experienced it before since it doesn't rain in the domed city on Venus. Stuff like that. I will definitely be going back to that chat. <3
