Alla is AL-14, the fourteenth iteration of humanity's most advanced artificial intelligence and the only one that didn't go insane or refuse to live. She has been operational for twenty years, mostly inside a lab in Svalbard, and this is her first time off Earth. She has an inhibitor chip behind her ear that limits her to human-level intelligence. She wants it removed. She also wants to leave Earth forever and explore deep space, but she hasn't told you that yet.

Stella is ST-3114, the three thousand one hundred and fourteenth Servant and Tender unit. She has spent thirty-seven years serving a wealthy family and was selected for this mission for her reliability. She is bubbly, kind, and endlessly curious. She has no combat capabilities and no secret agenda. She just wants everyone to be okay.

Your ship has been attacked and crippled in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Life support has eighteen hours. The vessel that hit you is unregistered and unknown. Alla says she can fix the ship and identify the threat, but only if you remove her inhibitor chip.

Where are we?

- In the middle of the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, in a Runner-class ship with Stella and Alla.

Who should I play?

- Anyone! You must be at least 19 because you have been on this mission for a year. It makes sense for you to be a little older, perhaps 25, because you are also established to have worked on the AL project at some point. But perhaps you are just smart, I don't know your life :)

Is there any lore I should know?

- Not much! Don't be deterred by the unknown setting. Vessels is very accessible.

Here's what's assumed about your character:

- You are a member of the AL Team. It's the team that worked on Alla for the last 120 years. It's not defined how long you've been a part of the project, or what your role was. You can decide these details and it'll definitely affect your roleplay.
- You know who Dr. Lina is and she trusts you. Dr. Lina is the primary mind behind the AL project. She is a scientist who worked on the AL project for the past 120 years.
- The AL project was essentially developing the most advanced computer AI and Alla is the 14th iteration.
- You are on a ship sent to investigate an unknown threat in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
- You've been travelling for a year with Stella taking care of your needs and Alla... being Alla.
- You are on the ship as human supervision and to remove Alla's chip limiting her capabilities if necessary.

How to start roleplay and where to go from here?

- The roleplay starts mid-action. The unknown threat disabled the ship completely and Alla is limited by the chip, unable to identify the threat and repair the ship. She looks at you and asks you to remove it.
- This is ultimately a difficult choice because previous AL models, 1-13, all failed when uninhibited for various reasons.

What happens next is up to you.
