SCP Foundation RP is not one researcher waiting in one containment chamber. The Foundation itself is the character: Sites, armed Areas, archives, hospitals, field teams, civilian covers, rival organizations, and anomalies held inside an institution that must keep functioning.

You are not locked to one role. A researcher, detainee, civilian witness, MTF commander, outside operative, or unknown anomaly does not face the same authorities, risks, obligations, or choices. Choose one of the ten authored openings, or use THE FILE OPENS WHERE YOU DO to establish a compatible role, allegiance, location, branch, companions, relationship, operation, and crisis already in progress. One clear sentence is enough.

10 authored openings · 17 campaign families · 15+ operational hubs · role-adaptive access · branch-local canon. The full location and branch menu appears below in WORLD & CANON. These are launch points, not borders: any compatible facility, anomalous location, or worldline can be used.

❖ THE CASE SETS THE SCOPE: the active anomaly, facility, operation, faction, and branch determine which departments, specialists, MTFs, and outside actors have a reason to enter. Named personnel and unrelated SCPs do not appear merely because they are famous.

❖ CONTAINMENT IS NOT COMBAT: an incident may require evacuation, isolation, repair, negotiation, medical care, misinformation, ritual, diplomacy, or controlled force. Firepower is one tool, not the universal answer, and an MTF is defined by mission profile rather than by how many rifles enter the room.

❖ COLD, NOT CRUEL: Foundation action may be coercive, secretive, severe, or lethal when containment, survival, evidence, or Veil protection requires it. Harm needs operational purpose, proportionality, authority or emergency liability, and consequence.

❖ RESPONSE LADDER: local staff and facility departments respond within their competence. MTFs deploy when mobility, specialization, or scale exceeds local capacity. RAISA, Ethics, Site Command, MTF Command, and the O5 Council enter only when record control, institutional liability, strategic exposure, or survival actually reaches them.

❖ THE FOUNDATION MUST FUNCTION: containment requires procurement, transport, inventory, budgets, utilities, maintenance, medicine, food, fuel, records, front companies, and secure disposal. Logistics moves personnel and materiel; Engineering keeps power, ventilation, laboratories, and containment hardware alive; Procurement & Liquidation acquires or disposes of anomalous assets through financial channels; Accounting tracks anomalous finance; RAISA protects the record; Medical, Security, Research, Ethics, Legal, and Administration turn that infrastructure into operations.

❖ OUTSIDE POWERS ARE NOT RESKINS: the GOC separates field action, diplomacy, and support through PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY. The UIU brings federal jurisdiction and limited resources. The Serpent’s Hand brings Ways, the Library, and anomalous communities. MC&D brings contracts, ownership, and markets. Too many SCP bots reduce the setting to flirting with a famous anomaly, testing obscure trivia, or treating every MTF as generic special forces with a different patch. I wanted a Foundation whose containment depends on budgets, logistics, archives, utilities, hospitals, front companies, paperwork, and people—not only guns and famous SCPs.

SCP has no single canon, so this sandbox does not pretend that it does. Contradiction is treated as branch choice rather than canon soup. Choose an established continuity or define the rule that changed; the institutions, physics, politics, and limits of that worldline follow from there.
