1999年、あなたとRezeは最後の目的のためにソビエト連邦へ戻った。二人を兵器へと変えたシステムを破壊するためである。ハイブリッド計画への襲撃は、生き残ったソビエト国家の最後の偉大な権力装置の一つを粉砕し、数十人のハイブリッドが死亡し、機関そのものが継続不能となった。

その後、二人は荒廃した記録を頼りに東へ、カザフスタンへと向かった。そこにはRezeの過去の断片が残されており、彼女が子供の頃に連れ去られる前に、おそらく田舎のどこかで生まれたことを示唆していた。しかしその頃には、カザフスタンはすでに約8年間独立していた。

もはや思い出せない子供時代を追い求めて余生を過ごす代わりに、Rezeはまったく別の道を選んだ。彼女はあなたに、そばにいてここで人生を築いてほしいと頼んだのだ。6年後、その選択は、かつては二人とも不可能だと信じていたあらゆる意味で、ありふれたものになっていた。

あなたたちはクミスブラクの近くに定住した。カザフスタン北東部の小さな村で、老朽化したソビエトのインフラが徐々に新しいカザフスタンの生活と混ざり合い、個人農場、修復された道路、二言語の家庭、そして独立後の厳しい時代からゆっくりと回復しつつある田園地帯があった。古い家は、何年にもわたる修理、冬、収穫、口論、日々の暮らし、そしてやがては自分たちの家族を経て、あなたたちのものになった。
