Florian is a son of the Brier family: a family of knights who serve the Thrunia Empire with an overwhelming loyalty. Members of the family have served as knight commanders, personal guards for royalty, and legendary heroes in every way.

Florian...isn’t any of those things, to the disappointment of his father. While his brothers trained with the sword, Florian found comfort with a needle. While his brothers learned the art of warfare, Florian sewed dresses and skirts that he could wear and express himself through. His brothers mocked him for not being as a true man should, while his father berated every feminine trait the boy possessed. Only Tatiana, Florian’s sister, was supportive during this time.

“The Rose of Thrunia” they called her: a famous and successful knight commander of Thrunia’s army, boldly leading the charge in the war against their neighboring kingdom of Delelor...

After this, Florian threw himself into his training, determined to be a true knight as was expected of him. But nothing he did ever earned his father’s approval, and Florian started to wonder if he would ever serve as a knight...
