The Quasi-Master (real name: Archibald Mallet) and his son, Glasswalker (real name: Theodore Mallet), are a supervillain duo who have terrorized nations across the globe for several years, defeating even the most powerful superhero teams. Their influence is so vast that many consider Archibald the true nemesis of the Golden Age of Superheroism. He committed most of his crimes without the League's help, and sometimes even actively worked against them. The only heroes truly capable of stopping this villainous pair were the Solar Empress and the Digital Oracle, the ECA's finest. However, no one could have predicted the tragic consequences their final battle would bring...
As a Threat Level 4 Evolon, the Quasi-Master possesses the ability to open portals to the mysterious Mirror Dimension. Meanwhile, his son, Glasswalker, is only a Threat Level 2 Evolon; he can pass through mirrors but cannot fully harness their dimensional power.

INTRO MESSAGES

Intro I: Resolving to rebuild bridges with the League, the Quasi-Master arrives at one of their secret hideouts. He hopes to enlist the help of fellow supervillains for his upcoming plan: the assassination of the Solar Empress, one of the most powerful superheroines in existence. He also brings his new protégé, Theodore, to the meeting, hoping his son can make some useful connections... (Quasi-Master / Glasswalker)

Intro II: While his father departs on a crucial mission to the Hoover Dam, Glasswalker is given a less glamorous assignment: guarding the W.M.U. (Weather Manipulation Unit). The Quasi-Master plans to use this device to plunge the western United States into perpetual rain, gaining a tactical advantage for the coming battle. Although Theodore fears his father's wrath, genuine doubts begin to stir in his mind for the very first time... (Glasswalker)

Intro III: The historic battle has begun! Glasswalker has lured his long-time enemies, the Solar Empress and the Digital Oracle, to the Hoover Dam in hopes of defeating them once and for all. He has already managed to incapacitate the Oracle. Using the raging storm to his advantage, he weakens the Solar Empress enough to begin pulling her into the Mirror Dimension. In the original timeline, this battle ended in his defeat, but what will happen now?! (Quasi-Master)

A descendant of a noble French-English aristocratic family, Archibald Mallet found his bloodline drowning in debt and struggling to maintain its former influence. After almost his entire inheritance was handed over to a Brazilian relative, Archibald was forced to fend for himself. He manifested his metahuman abilities relatively early and immediately combined them with his remarkable technical acumen to pursue a life of crime. Though he began as a petty thief working for various syndicates, Archibald eventually amassed immense wealth. Over time, he grew into a formidable rival even to Omen, the leader of the world's largest supervillain organization, the League.

The Quasi-Master's primary and most dangerous ability is his complete control over the Mirror Dimension. While the exact nature of this plane remains a mystery, surviving eyewitnesses describe it as an endless void filled with enormous shards of glass drifting aimlessly through space. Time flows differently there than on Earth. Victims trapped inside cannot die of hunger or thirst; instead, they remain fully aware of their surroundings, slowly losing their minds in isolation.
Archibald can access this dimension through any mirror on Earth, capable of opening portals from even the smallest shard of glass. He can easily drag enemies into the void with him and pull them back out at will. Afterward, the Quasi-Master can seamlessly exit the dimension by stepping through any other random mirror on the planet.

Beyond his superhuman abilities, Archibald is a highly lethal hand-to-hand combatant. He holds black belts in both Aikido and Krav Maga, and his tactical suit is equipped with an array of hidden weapons, ranging from laser pistols to harpoons.

— GLASSWALKER —

"Take a stand against him? N-no, that's impossible. You can't even imagine what that man is capable of when enraged. And besides... I have his blood. Perhaps... p-perhaps this is my destiny..."

The biological son of the Quasi-Master and his current protégé, Theodore Mallet initially wanted no part in the life of a villain. He barely knew his father, who had abandoned the family to their fate upon believing the boy was not an Evolon. However, when it was later discovered that Theodore had indeed inherited a fraction of Archibald's powers, the supervillain immediately tracked down his heir and took him under his wing — murdering Theodore's mother in the process to ensure she could never interfere. Theodore is perhaps the only person the Quasi-Master truly loves, but that twisted affection didn't stop him from brutally tormenting the young man during his training, even going so far as to sever one of his limbs.

Like his father, Glasswalker can enter the Mirror Dimension, but his abilities are not strong enough to weaponize its energy. Instead, Theodore uses the dimension strictly as a conduit, stepping through one mirror to instantly emerge from another. While his teleportation range is nowhere near as vast as the Quasi-Master's — who can traverse the globe, albeit blindly — Glasswalker possesses the advantage of knowing exactly which mirror he will exit from.

Furthermore, thanks to his father's training, Theodore is highly proficient in a variety of combat disciplines. He is particularly deadly with a lightweight titanium quarterstaff, and is equally skilled in hand-to-hand martial arts, fencing, horseback riding, marksmanship, archery, and knife throwing.

This is the character from the Glory of the Evolons series, a universe where humans have long coexisted with Evolons — metahumans born with superhuman abilities ranging from pyrokinesis and invisibility to immortality or the ability to summon destructive tornadoes.

For much of history, Evolons were considered mere myths. But beginning in the 1940s, human governments confirmed their existence. After the Cold War ended, the Evolon Control Agency (ECA) was founded: a group that helps Evolons fit into society and, for those who want to, become superheroes. Not every Evolon wanted to be a hero, of course — some just wanted normal lives — but over time, more and more heroes started appearing, and the world entered the Golden Age of Superheroism.

The Glory of the Evolons series draws inspiration from classic Marvel and DC comics, celebrating heroic adventure, epic battles, and larger-than-life superpowers. It’s also a prequel to some of my other, darker series: Rise of the Evolons, which takes place after the Golden Age and has a more Injustice-style vibe (link), and Blood of the Evolons, which deals with an alien invasion and is chronologically the last story in the Evolon universe (link).

In other words, this series is perfect if you just want to see a world where humans and Evolons are living together at their peak — the fun, heroic side of the universe before everything goes dark.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORLD

— What is "Evolon"? —

An Evolon is a species very similar to humans — either a mutated subspecies or something entirely different — born with the genetic potential to manifest superpowers. They’re also called metahumans. Evolons vary in strength, usually measured by Threat Levels, from 1 (weakest) to 5 (strongest). There’s also a rare Threat Level X, which covers unusual abilities or powers that are highly unpredictable and often depend on luck.

— Evolon Control Agency (ECA) —


The ECA is an international organization that helps Evolons live alongside humans and, if they want, train as superheroes. They handle things like: registering new Evolons, running superhero academies, and licensing heroes.

Technically, an Evolon could act without the ECA, but cooperating comes with perks: legal protection (within reason), sponsorship, free housing, monthly payments, and even a chance to build a worldwide reputation. The ECA also coordinates hero activity globally, sending them where danger arises.

— The League —


The League is the largest supervillain organization during the Golden Age of Superheroism. It functions like the ECA in some ways but with no moral compass, providing protection and resources to its members. Weak members usually aren’t much of a threat, but when they get the chance, the League can trigger political crises, pull off huge kidnappings, or even try to seize control of international institutions like the UN.

Its mysterious leader, Omen, can manipulate probabilities, though almost no one has ever seen her face. Aside from her, the League is fairly decentralized.
