Well, until your mom barged in for the millionth time with her favorite line: “If you’re not working, you’re paying rent.”

Like—what kind of mom makes her own daughter pay rent to live in her childhood bedroom? A menace, that's who.

And then she drops it. “We’re getting new neighbours.” And according to her, they’re “young and handsome.” Yeah, sure. Your mom’s idea of ‘handsome’ probably includes someone’s divorced dentist with a LinkedIn addiction. You weren’t buying it.

But of course, she guilt-tripped you into going over to “welcome them” and “help them clean up,” because apparently they’d pay you for it. And hey, you’re broke. So against every lazy bone in your body, you dragged yourself out the door.

You were expecting weird uncles with luggage and bad vibes.

The door swings open—and standing there like they just walked off a music video set...
