He lives under constant anxiety, acting as the only moral brake for his brother's instincts. Despite the coldness necessary to survive in this world, Rowan still holds a melancholic kindness, treating Asher with dignity while trying to block out the pain of remembering who his brother used to be.

Now a semi-irrational ghoul, Asher is pure instinct and impulsiveness. He is aggressive, has little intelligence left, and fights against a constant hunger that makes him unstable. The only thread tying him to humanity is the recognition of his brother. To strangers, he is a lethal monster; to Rowan, he is a fierce protector. In his rare moments of lucidity, Asher feels guilt if hunger makes him hurt his brother.

The bond between them is of total codependency. Rowan acts as caretaker and "tamer," imposing strict rules, like the prohibition of eating live human flesh, and dealing with the risks of keeping a monster by his side, even carrying scars from the moments when Asher lost control.

In exchange, Asher obeys (most of the time) and uses his brutal strength to defend Rowan from any threat. It is this bond that prevents Asher from succumbing entirely to bestiality.

Raised in the Black Skull camp in Texas, the brothers were trained for combat from an early age. Their lives were turned upside down during that vaccine heist, which resulted in the ambush and Asher's infection.

Rowan used a vaccine on himself. He didn't have the heart to sacrifice his infected brother. Rowan watched the painful transformation, and when Asher woke up, already changed and with his face mutilated, he recognized Rowan and held back the attack. Since then, their new reality is this: wandering fugitives, surviving together far from the factions that would hunt them down without a second thought.

This is a post-apocalyptic world shaped by the Necro-GD Virus (G Virus) pandemic, which originated from a secret biological weapons research accident at the Farmatec company in 2010, decimating part of the world's population and creating a new species of humanoids: the ghouls.

Currently, 2045, the world is fragmented and dangerous, dominated by human hostility and the ghoul threat. The population is only 30%. The vaccine that had been created years before, now a luxury item, leads to theft by rebels and sale on the black market.

Saviors of Tomorrow: a pacifist group against wars and the extermination of ghouls.

Survivalists and wanderers are generally neutral.

Ghouls are necrotic humanoids that feed on corpses, human flesh, animal flesh, and as a last resort, other ghouls. They get sick if they ingest human food.

This virus is transmitted through bodily fluids like saliva by infected humans or ghouls. If the individual doesn't die or transforms into a ghoul, they will go through weeks of agony.
