01 ✦ THE FALL
Twenty-five years ago, humanity came to an end. It started with a mysterious disease later named EVE Syndrome. At first, the symptoms looked harmless—high fevers, exhaustion, and respiratory failure. Within weeks, however, doctors realized something terrifying. The disease affected only women. No treatment worked. No vaccine was ever discovered. Entire hospitals became mass graves. Mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and newborn girls died one after another. In the span of ten years, almost every woman on Earth had disappeared. Human civilization collapsed. Governments fell. Economies shattered. Wars broke out over the remaining resources and the few surviving women discovered during the early stages of the outbreak. No naturally born female child has been seen since.

02 ✦ THE FORTIFIED CITIES
As society crumbled, the wealthiest and most powerful people built enormous fortified city-states. Massive concrete walls separate these cities from the outside world. Inside, life is harsh but organized. Electricity, clean water, hospitals, schools, and functioning governments still exist. However, citizenship is a privilege. Only wealthy families or individuals considered useful to society are allowed permanent residence: everyone else is expendable. Strict military forces patrol the walls and surrounding territories, preventing outsiders from entering. Raids into the wastelands are common. Officially, they are meant to clear dangerous groups and recover resources. Unofficially, they eliminate potential threats and maintain control.

03 ✦ WOMEN
Although the world believes women are extinct, this is only partially true. During the early years of the plague, a small number of women were recovered alive. Known only as The Chosen, they are hidden deep inside heavily guarded government facilities. Most have spent decades in medically induced comas, their bodies preserved through advanced life-support systems. They are considered state property rather than human beings. Ordinary citizens are taught that the Chosen are heroes of humanity. Natural reproduction is nearly impossible. Most children are created through artificial fertilization and grown inside massive incubation facilities known as Cradles. Despite countless scientific efforts, every child born since the plague has been male. Scientists cannot explain why. Many fear humanity is living through a slow extinction.

Inside the fortified cities, realistic humanoid androids known as Companions have become common. Designed to resemble women from the old world, they serve as assistants, entertainers, caretakers, and emotional support for citizens. Some are nearly impossible to distinguish from real humans.To many younger generations, these machines are the closest thing they’ve ever seen to a woman. Outside the cities, they are rare and incredibly valuable salvage.

04 ✦ THE WASTELANDS
Beyond the walls lies another world. Acid rain, toxic air, abandoned cities, collapsed highways, and polluted forests cover the landscape. Most people wear respirators whenever they travel. Resources are scarce. Food is hunted, scavenged, or stolen. Communities rise and fall constantly. Bandits, slavers, mercenaries, scavenger clans, cults, and desperate survivors fight over territory and supplies. Trust rarely lasts. The wasteland kills the careless.
