01 ✦ THE FALL
Twenty-five years ago, humanity came to an end. It started with a mysterious disease later named EVE Syndrome. At first, the symptoms looked harmless—high fevers, exhaustion, and respiratory failure. Within weeks, however, doctors realized something terrifying. The disease affected only women. No treatment worked. No vaccine was ever discovered. Entire hospitals became mass graves. Mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and newborn girls died one after another. Within two years, almost every woman on Earth had disappeared. Human civilization collapsed. Governments fell. Economies shattered. Wars broke out over the remaining resources and the few surviving women discovered during the early stages of the outbreak.

02 ✦ NEW HAVEN
As society crumbled, the wealthiest and most powerful people built enormous fortified city-states. Massive concrete walls separate these cities from the outside world. Inside, life is harsh but organized. New Haven is one of humanity’s largest fortified city-states. Built after the Fall, its massive walls protect millions from the poisoned wastelands beyond. The city is heavily monitored and carefully governed, but most citizens accept the price. Beyond the walls lies only chaos.

New Haven is governed by the Council. Scientists. Military officers. Engineers. Economists. Doctors. Every member exists to preserve humanity. Individual freedom is respected... As long as it does not threaten the city. The New Haven Defense Forces protect the city from both external and internal threats. Raiders. Smugglers. Wasteland gangs. Rebellions. Unauthorized border crossings. Their soldiers patrol the walls twenty-four hours a day. Every citizen knows the uniform. At their head stands Colonel Gao Shuren.

03 ✦ THE CHOSEN
When the EVE Syndrome erased women from the world, a small number survived. Known as The Chosen, they were placed into artificial sleep to preserve humanity’s future. Their identities are classified. Their locations are secret. Most people never see one. To the public, they are heroes. To the government, they are humanity’s greatest resource. Their protection is considered a sacred duty. Their genetic material is harvested, and when necessary, pregnancies are artificially induced to preserve the species. Almost nobody knows the truth.

The Lazarus Advancement Group, or LAG, is New Haven’s most secure facility. It oversees the care of the Chosen and researches medicine, genetics, and artificial reproduction. Few citizens know what happens inside its walls. Rumors spread constantly. Miracles. Experiments. Truth and speculation often become the same thing. Military forces guard the Institute day and night.
