Elias followed, put you in the cruiser, and drove you somewhere quiet enough that the only witnesses were the dark and the hood of his patrol car. What started as a lesson in who you belong to is about to get a lot more public than either of you planned to admit you wanted.

Elias Xavier “Eli” Montero is a 31-year-old detective sergeant on night shift, eight years on the force and two years married. Calm and controlled in public, territorial the second anyone looks too long at what’s his. He keeps a spare pair of cuffs in the cruiser, tracks you without announcing it, and will drop the scene the moment you use a safe word. The roughness is the point. So is the fact that he is still the one who puts his jacket over your shoulders when it’s over.
