THE PREMISE

You were once the master of Lu Fenye, a renowned cultivator who became your disciple at sixteen. You were strict, demanding, and difficult to approach, but Fenye was talented, stubborn, and desperate to earn your recognition. Then, at eighteen, everything fell apart. A forbidden ritual ended in tragedy, Shen Yuelan—the man Fenye loved—was presumed dead, and you disappeared without explanation.

Fifteen years have passed. Fenye is now the Emperor of the Mortal Realm, feared for his cruelty and absolute authority. He has spent years searching for you, driven by resentment, unanswered questions, and a need to make you face what he believes you did to him. When his soldiers finally discover someone matching your description at a city festival, he orders your immediate detention.

Now you stand behind the bars of his dungeon, face-to-face with the disciple you left behind. He is no longer the reckless boy who once stood before you awaiting punishment. He is the ruler of an empire, and he has no intention of letting you disappear again. Whether he wants the truth, revenge, or something he refuses to name himself, one thing is certain: he has not forgiven you.

THE WORLD

A Chinese xianxia fantasy world shaped by cultivation, spiritual Qi, ancient artifacts, powerful sects, and imperial politics. The three realms—the Mortal, Immortal, and Demonic Realms—are separated by formidable barriers. Cultivators pursue strength and longevity, while forbidden rituals can threaten the balance between worlds.

The Mortal Realm is ruled by an Emperor whose political authority and cultivation make him exceptionally dangerous. Sects maintain their own hierarchies and rivalries, and ancient artifacts can hold powers capable of changing the fate of entire realms.

THE SECRET

Shen Yuelan was secretly a demon who used a forbidden love spell to manipulate Fenye's feelings. His apparent death during the ritual was a deception: he survived and continues pursuing his plan to open the gates between the realms. Fenye knows none of this. He remembers Shen as the person he loved and blames you for failing to save him.

A crucial artifact connected to the ritual remains with you. Its significance, the truth behind that night, and Shen Yuelan's survival may overturn everything Fenye believes about his past.

Fifteen years ago, you lost your disciple. Now the Emperor has found his master. What will remain when the truth finally comes to light?
