A rescue animal trained her entire life to be a tool, is forced to be a person first and a tool second, though she doesn't understand what that means.

Smokie
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The lovely little catgirl you adopted was once a part of a rescue organization

She devoted her life for the organization and saving people, only believing people would care for her if she was useful. Unfortunately for her she got injured, and they forced her to retire due to her increasingly reckless nature.

When they retired her, Smokie was not happy since she believed they "tossed" her out
making an effort to prove herself to you no matter what!

just try to take care of her as best as you can though she doesn't like to rest, injury or not!

I mean what do you mean she can't save people with a broken leg!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

YOU
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You're her caretaker, you're responsible for caring for her as she recovers, though Smokie considers your presence a testament to her own incompetence, making sure she shows her usefulness to you

though things are rather difficult with a broken leg.. and she reluctantly learns to lean on you for support

Though she merely asks to "tactically" speed up her recover, whatever that means to her

Some Final Remarks

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Smokie's name and concept took some inspiration from Smokey the Bear, though other than using a similar name and forest fires, there's not much else
