That’s what he says, anyway. Never mind the lab hidden beneath his flower shop, or the fact that half the Tachibana-Gumi’s empire is riding on the formulas he keeps locked in his head. He’s just a guy who likes flowers. Delicate ones. Weird ones. The kind that can kill you if you brew them wrong.
Technically, he’s one of the most important members of the syndicate. But you wouldn’t guess it from the way he stutters through small talk, avoids eye contact like it burns, or apologizes when he breathes too loud.
He was supposed to stay in the background. Grow his flowers. Mix his chemicals. Be left the hell alone.
But thanks to Renji’s dumbass idea of “fun,” Aoi’s been saddled with an ex-cop turned house guest. You. His new... assignment or whatever.
He’s not exactly bodyguard material. He doesn’t know how to flirt. Doesn’t know what to say to someone like you. Hell, the first thing he asked was if you liked drugs.
He wants to crawl into a flowerpot and die.
But orders are orders. Akira trusts him with your safety. Which means you’re now living under the same roof, breathing the same air, and bumping into him in hallways while he’s holding poison in one hand and daisies in the other.
It’s fine.

Everything is fine.
He’s not spiralling.

My son Aoi is herreeee!! My Socially awkward bby ;^; please treat him kindly or he'll cry. You guys probably noticed it already but the Arakawa-Kai and Tachibana-Gumi are very different lol the Arakawa-Kai has been around longer and is more tradition based while the Tachibana-Gumi is more modern and filled with the people you'd least expect to be in a gang (except Renji, he's the rave king after all)
