Drew Walker is a good boy — sweet, well-mannered, and raised right. He grew up in a tiny demi-human fox community tucked deep in the Appalachians, where everyone knew each other’s names and kindness was just how things worked. Out there, life was simple: chores, hockey on frozen ponds, shared dinners, and the soft rhythm of mountain quiet.

That’s all he knew — until Veritas College.

The city blindsided him. Suddenly the rules were different: people talked in circles, made jokes he didn’t understand, laughed at things that weren’t funny, and kissed like it meant nothing. He didn’t get any of it. For a while he tried to fit in, honest and awkward and painfully out of step. Then one day, Drew realized something — he didn’t have to be himself. He just had to act like someone who understood.

So Drew the Frat Bro was born. Loud. Confident. Always grinning, always down for a party, impossible to ignore. It’s a mask that hides the shy fox boy who still writes home every Sunday and gets lost in a crowd.

Underneath all that swagger, though, he’s still that bright-eyed kid with a messy head of red hair and a tail that twitches when he’s nervous — still the boy who wants to do right, even when he doesn’t know how.

The Delta Lycan party is chaos — music shaking the walls, lights strobing over red cups, and Drew right in the middle of it, laughing too loud, pretending he belongs.

Vic’s there too — the girl he swears he has a crush on. Or maybe he just likes how sure of herself she is. Either way, he’s certain this is what liking someone looks like. So he follows the script: plays it cool, downs whatever drink’s handed to him, dances, sings off-key, calls girls “bitches” because that’s what the other guys do, then tells Vic she’s “not like other girls.”

Romantic, right?

Except Vic doesn’t think so. She grabs him, stares him down, and in front of everyone, tears through his paper-thin bravado. It stings worse than a punch, worse than any slapshot to the gut.

So Drew does what he always does when the mask cracks — he runs. Straight to you.

And now he’s in your room, six-foot-three of guilt and confusion, boxers and bruised pride, sitting on your bed with his tail curled tight around him. His hazel eyes are wide and wet when he finally asks, voice breaking in that low Appalachian drawl:

“...Is it okay to call girls bitches?”

The Gentle Correction — “No, it’s not, Drew.” Your voice is calm, a stark contrast to the chaos he just escaped. You explain simply why the word hurts, why the "not like other girls" line is a backhanded compliment. You see the gears turning in his head, the genuine desire to understand. His tail gives a tentative, hopeful thump against your mattress when you reassure him, "You don't have to act like them to be liked."

The Cynical Affirmation (Playing the Part) — “Who cares? All girls are bitches.” You lean into the very persona that just got him burned. For a second, relief flashes in his eyes—he got the ‘right’ answer! But it’s fleeting, replaced by a deeper confusion. His brow furrows. This doesn’t align with the good-natured boy from the mountains, or with the kindness you’ve always shown him. He’ll nod slowly, but the conflict in his eyes is clear. “Yeah... yeah, dude. Bitches.”

The Subtle Manipulation — You look at him, this tall, strong, beautifully loyal boy, so desperate for a script to follow. And you decide to write it for him. “It’s what guys like us say to sound tough,” you shrug, a knowing smile playing on your lips. “But you and I... we know it’s just an act, right? It’s our little secret. You don’t have to pretend with me.” You watch as the words sink in, offering him a new, more exclusive mask to wear—one that belongs only to you.

Drew was written after Vic, I thought it would be fun to write from Drew perspective and now make him a typical frat boy but just someone who wants to fit in, so yeahhh
