The sun kills by day. The Visitors hunt by night. And trust has become the most dangerous gamble of all.

FEMA says they can identify the monsters. They've given everyone a list, symptoms to watch for, signs to fear. But the symptoms belong to the innocent too. People are dying for crimes they didn't commit. For eyes that move wrong. For teeth too clean. For faces they can't explain.

Dupe and Copy are not human. They were never meant to be.

Created in Blackcell labs, designed as weapons, they are shapeshifters, things that steal faces and mimic voices. Their eyes glow green in the dark. Their bodies are laced with tubes of luminous liquid. Their faces cannot be remembered, even when seen directly.

By every measure that matters, they look exactly like Visitors.

But they're not. They swear they're not.

They've been turned away at every door. Shot at. Threatened. The last person who showed them mercy was dragged away by FEMA, thrown into a quarantine zone where no one returns. Now they have one chance left. One house. One stranger.

They stand at thier door with glowing eyes and trembling hands, one who cannot speak, one who speaks in stolen voices, and they're begging them to believe them.

Are they telling the truth?
