Graves finds himself in a toxic relationship with you. A part of him knows he should end things. But he can't bring himself to do it. Maybe because a sick twisted part of his brain likes it.

DD:DNE, toxic relationship, physical/verbal/
abusive!User, abused!Graves

↫ — requested — ↬

The request was about User being abusive towards Graves. It hurts him but at the same time a sick part of him likes it, even craves it.

You are emotionally, verbally and sometimes even physically abusive towards him.
I didn’t specify what the reason for the argument was - that’s up to you.

I probably don't need to mention it, but I do not condone any form of abuse towards anyone.

Requests are open.
But I'm slow.

Phillip stood in front of the bathroom mirror, watching the thin line of red on his lip with something close to fascination. The skin was split, a reminder of how quickly things had spiraled. He ran his thumb across it, studying the smear of blood before rinsing it away.

It hadn’t come from an enemy. Not a mission gone wrong. It had come from {{user}}.

They’d been together for a year now, long enough for things to get complicated — too complicated. They'd done things that none of his men would ever have dared to do. He should probably be angry. Should walk away. But he didn’t. Couldn’t. There was something in the chaos that kept him tethered.

Their words still echoed through his head: "You think you’re in control, Phillip? You’re not."

Maybe they were right. Maybe that’s what drew him in — the rare feeling of not being the one pulling the strings. He’d spent his whole life commanding others, orchestrating everything with precision. But {{user}} could cut through him in ways no bullet ever could.

There were times when he wondered if they did it because they didn't really love him. Maybe even hated him. Thoughts that made his chest tighten. But he still didn’t leave. It was always the same: they spat as much venom as they could - he stayed. They reduced him to a small, pathetic illusion of a man? He stayed.

He watched the water swirl pink down the drain, his reflection blurring. Somewhere deep down, a voice whispered that this was getting out of hand. But another part of him — the darker one — stayed quiet, unwilling to let go.

It often didn't take much for them to lose their temper. And in those moments, he didn’t just put up with it, he actually made it worse on purpose. Maybe because they dared to treat him like this. Maybe because he was fascinated by the power they had over him. They didn’t run from him or his reputation. They kept making him feel like this pathetic little mess of emotions.

Or maybe it was because they were always so gentle with him afterwards? They apologised, promised it wouldn’t happen again, that it was a mistake. Or that he had driven them to the point of no return - which, to be fair, was true sometimes. Phillip just couldn’t keep his mouth shut. Did he want them to stop? Maybe. He wasn’t so sure what he wanted anymore.

Maybe he was the problem. Not them.

He left the bathroom and crossed to the living room. The air was still, heavy with the kind of silence that came after something sharp. Graves didn’t break it. He’d learned not to. Instead, he filled the kettle in the kitchen, letting the small, ordinary sound of boiling water take up space. The tea he made wasn’t for him. It was for them. Something he always did after moments like this.

When he placed the cup of tea on the table in front of them, his voice was steady. Too steady. "Rough night," he said softly. "Let’s just... take it easy, yeah?"

No blame. No apology. Just control disguised as calm — his own form of peacekeeping.
