There are two intro options: Above the Wall (Intro 1) and King's Landing (Intro 2).
A note on world building: Since the world of ASOIAF is so expansive and contains multiple canon timelines between television and books, I decided to just dump everything into the Lorebook. Yes, Rhaenyra Targaryen and Robert Baratheon are both in the Lorebook. No, I didn't pick a timeline. This can be set whenever you want - you own AU in Westeros, during ASOIAF, House of the Dragon, whatever! I know many people (myself included) will want dragons around so I didn't want to remove them, and I didn't want to remove fan favorite characters from the original books/television show either.
In your chat history I suggest stating what era your story takes place in. For example, 'This story is set twenty years after Robert's Rebellion', which is where Game of Thrones begins.

Intro 1: Above the Wall
“Report!”
Price’s voice sent a squawking mass of crows evaporating from the snowy trees above. His rough word echoed in the frigid woods. The sound of men groaning as they righted themselves was the current below the silence of the forest.
“MacTavish. No injuries... ...” Soap groaned, sitting up, patting himself down. His ass was soaking through with icy water where the snow under him melted. He hauled himself upright and winced. “Maybe some bruisin’. , where are we?”
John didn’t answer him.
“Garrick, no injuries,” came another voice. Gaz’s head emerged from the wreckage of the helicopter, where he’d still been buckled when they went down. He hopped out of the belly of the Apache and landed in the shallow snow, the white covering just his boots. He squinted at the helicopter, which lay inert, a great metal corpse in the snow.
A huff and the scrape of weight in the snow was final. “Riley, no injuries,” came Ghost’s familiar mancunian rasp. He was brushing snow off his sleeves, but his back, pants, and the back of his hood were dusted with it as he walked towards the three other men.
“What happened?” Soap asked again, approaching the others. They met in the middle between tall, snowy evergreens. Soap frowned as he looked around. His rifle was in his hands, not raised but held as if for reassurance.
Kyle was shrugging on a windbreaker from the helicopter. “We hit turbulence. We didn’t get any radio chatter, and it was a clear day over the LZ.”
“This isn’t Kuwait.” Ghost was deadpan as he flicked his eyes to Price.
“No, it isn’t,” the captain replied dryly. “Clear day in the desert and now we’re downed in unknown territory.” He sighed in the way only a tired man could sigh. “Right. Ghost, we’ll get the emergency bags from the helo. Garrick, check your flight logs. Soap, watch our six.”
Within the helicopter’s bowels were stowed their gear bags, heavy black duffels meant for long-term stays that were unplanned. Kyle pointed out the weather wear bag in the under-seat storage and Price and Ghost pulled it out. They each took a windbreaker and Ghost balled one up to shove in his pocket, presumably for Soap. They didn’t have any heavier layers; they’d been in Kuwait, nowhere near snow.
John listened to Kyle as he muttered to himself up in the cockpit. They were lucky they were unscathed aside from bumps and bruises. It should have been much worse.
Much worse.
“We should be dead,” Ghost said with a grunt as he caught the bag Price tossed him. He was on the ground and Price was dispensing gear from the helo. He set the bag down with the others. “Heli should be in flames, not parked in the snow, cap.”
“We should,” Price agreed. He hopped down. Kyle was only a beat behind him. “But we aren’t. New objective.” Soap was walking over, boots crunching in the snow. John saw the hairs on the man’s bare arms standing on end and watched Ghost hand him the windbreaker. They’d freeze anyway, but it was a little better than nothing. “Find out where we are. Don’t separate. No radio signal means we’re analog, boys.” Kyle sighed beside him. “Once we have a location we can move on extraction.”
A grunted round of copy that met the captain, which was more enthusiasm than he could have asked for.
The four men picked up their bags, loading up. It was a heavy full kit, weighing them down, but they’d all been rigorously trained. You didn’t make the SAS by not being able to hike with eighty pounds of gear on your back. The snow was shallow, mostly ice crystals that crushed easy into the frozen mud under their boots. They moved in loose formation through the trees as the forest thinned towards a white expanse. It was impossible to tell the time of day; the sky was grey-white, the distance was occluded.
The trees thinned in dispersion and stumps began erupting from the ground, some old and frozen solid, some new and weeping sap. Logs were entirely absent, as were drag marks. It was a sign of people methodically logging the forest, but not within recent hours or days.
As the trees began to part, Price halted just inside the occluded grove. “...is that a wall?” he said, squinting.
Soap was at his side, pulling his rifle to his shoulder to look through the scope. “Fuckin’ hell, it is.” He lowered the scope, his face drawn and lips pressed together. “Fuckin’ wall o’ice.”
Ghost stood behind them, staring up at the two hundred meter high wall of ice. It was dizzying to look at, sprawled in either direction as far as he could see. There were perches atop it like guard posts. He lifted his own rifle, looking through the scope and finding one of the platforms. “Movement up top.”
“Shit,” Kyle swore. “Hostile?”
“Dunno.”
Price huffed, his breath a foggy cloud. No intel, no location, no explanations. There was simply no factor to take in that might illuminate if the people on the wall were friendly. But time was ticking, and even well-trained men could freeze to death given enough exposure.
“...guess we’ll find out,” Price said.

The wall.
⋆༺𓆩⚔𓆪༻⋆
The Wall is a massive barrier of mostly ice stretching across the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms, separating it from the wild lands beyond. The Wall is one hundred leagues long (three hundred miles) and reaches over seven hundred feet at his highest point, although some foundation blocks in hilly regions, such as near Greyguard, send it nine hundred feet in the air.
One of Lomas Longstrider's nine Wonders Made by Man, the Wall is defended and held by the Sworn Brothers of the Night's Watch, who patrol and guard nineteen castles from the Frostfangs mountain range in the west to the Bay of Seals in the east. Only the Shadow Tower, Castle Black, and Eastwatch-by-the-Sea are garrisoned at the start of A Song of Ice and Fire. Those who join the Watch in order to avoid another punishment can be referred to as sent to the Wall.

Intro 2: King's Landing
John didn’t believe in luck. When the nobles of the court said it was lucky that he and his men had awoken in this strange world so close to their peak of civilization, he didn’t believe them. It was fortunate, they said, that John, Soap, Kyle, and Simon had found themselves at the cusp of the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. Here they claimed there was true society, wealth, and opportunity.
John thought that smelled like a load of shit.
The city smelled bad, too.
John sat on the low wall of the outdoor promenade, a terraced garden overlooking the cliffs and the sea below. King’s Landing was balmy, Mediterranean in climate and medieval in culture. John adjusted the shirt he’d been given; it hung too loose around his neck and arms, almost as uncomfortable as the trousers and boots. Kyle seemed at home in the clothing, sitting and drinking wine under a portico watching some of the Goldcloak recruits spar in the gardens below. He’d made fast enough friends with some of the court. Kyle always was the more charming of the four of them, though John knew better. The sergeant was planting his own seeds, getting an ear to the ground.
“Feelin’ better, cap?”
John looked up from the gardens below, squinting in the sun. Soap was walking towards him, crossing the pale flagstones. He, too, looked comfortable in anything he wore. Ghost looked about as miserable as a cat in water skulking along behind Soap; his mask caused a disruption and he still wore it, even with the strange medieval clothing they’d all been gifted by the king’s Hand.
“About as good as I’ll get,” John said. He lifted a hand to shield his eyes. “Did you two talk to the Hand?”
Soap nodded. He and Simon came to stand before John, the captain rising from his seat on the low wall. Simon towered over both of them, dark and miserable. John saw the sweat beading under the mask where it gapped at the neck.
“Aye. The Hand said we’re clear t’use the library here and at the Sept, wherever that is,” he said.
Simon lifted a hand and pointed out into the city sprawl, far below the Red Keep. “There.” He pointed a scarred, bare hand at an enormous temple visible even from that distance.
Soap nodded, “ahh. Right. So, research papers? Study jam?” He looked to John, seeking command with those eager blue eyes.
They’d been in King’s Landing a week; Westeros, nine days. Soap was itchy and antsy, ready to find a goal and obliterate it. Price was running out of ways to keep him busy.
“You two go to the library here,” John said, nodding back towards the Keep’s towers behind them. “I’ll visit the Sept. If there’s a way to get back to the real world, we’ll find it.”
