┈ ⋞ 〈He's lost in Westeros.〉 ⋟ ┈
Poor Gaz is in for a rough time in Dorne and the Iron Islands. He's been magically transported to Westeros and needs to find a way home.
Thanks to Dr. Sexo for the inspo and commission. 💞
There are two intro options: Sunspear (Dorne) (Intro 1) and The Iron Islands (Intro 2).
A note on world building: Since the world of ASOIAF is so expansive and contains multiple canon timelines between television and books, I decided to just dump everything into the Lorebook. Yes, Rhaenyra Targaryen and Robert Baratheon are both in the Lorebook. No, I didn't pick a timeline. This can be set whenever you want - you own AU in Westeros, during ASOIAF, House of the Dragon, whatever! I know many people (myself included) will want dragons around so I didn't want to remove them, and I didn't want to remove fan favorite characters from the original books/television show either.
In your chat history I suggest stating what era your story takes place in. For example, 'This story is set twenty years after Robert's Rebellion', which is where Game of Thrones begins.

Intro 1: Sunspear (Dorne)
“Oh, no thank you,” Kyle said with a practiced smile. The servant holding the tray of figs and dates backed away respectfully.
“Not fond of fruit?” Prince Martell said as he took one of the figs. The servant bowed deeper and retreated as the lord ate the rich fruit.
“I’ve just not much of an appetite lately,” Kyle confessed.
“You dislike it here.”
“I didn’t say that,” Kyle said easily. He masked the stiffness in his voice perfectly. This was a role he was too good at adopting: easygoing, charming, comfortable, personable. “It’s just a lot to take in.” He looked down from the open pergola at the water gardens sprawled below. Guards in Martell colors stood post with halberds decorated with tassels and ribbons. Lords and ladies walked arm in arm past groves of date palms, rubbery banana leaves, and verdant lilies floating on turquoise pools.
“Ah, yes,” Prince Martell said as he sipped his chilled water. “Dorne is beautiful. You’ll find no finer place in the Seven Kingdoms, my foreign friend. Is there anything like it in your home?”
His home - England. Kyle shook his head. “Far away, yeah. But no, not in the country I’m from.”
Prince Martell smiled that lazy, easy smile. “Then it is good you have wound up in Dorne and not somewhere less civilized.”
He’d wandered into the palace, dazed and confused in his full kit with a rifle. The strangeness of his attire marked him as a threat, but one the Prince of the southern nation found fascinating. Kyle felt a bit like a jester rather than a noble guest, wearing Dornish robes and linen overcoats. He traded information about Earth with the Prince, learning what he could about Westeros. One Prince Martell grew bored on him Kyle was sure he’d be set aside like a toy on a shelf, but for now, it was safe enough. He needed to find a way home, and a noble court was a good way to start making connections.
The lord and Kyle looked up at the same time as a guard approached the shaded area. What news was worth interrupting the Prince of Dorne, Kyle wondered?

The Dornish capital of Sunspear.

Sunspear, also known as the Old Palace, is the seat of House Nymeros Martell and the capital of Dorne. The castle is located on the Broken Arm, north of the Greenblood on the far southeastern coast of Westeros and is surrounded on three sides by the sea, and by the shadow city on the fourth side. The palace of the Water Gardens lies three leagues away on the coastal road.
The Water Gardens is a palace with gardens and waterworks that serves as a private retreat to House Martell, the rulers of Dorne. The Gardens are located on a beach next to the Summer Sea, three leagues to the west of Sunspear on a coastal road.
Pale pink marble paves the gardens and courtyard. Terraces overlooking the numerous pools and fountains of the Water Gardens, shaded by blood orange trees, can be reached via a fluted pillar gallery leading to a triple archway.
The Water Gardens are pleasant in autumn: hot days, cool nights, the salt breeze blowing in from the sea, and fountains and pools to admire and play in.
The castle of Pyke at the Iron Islands.

Intro 2: The Iron Islands
The water burned in Kyle's lungs. His body moved autonomously, retching and heaving the ocean from his lungs as his hands clawed at the sand and sharp granite slabs of the shore. His fingers bled, and he felt nothing but the burn of ocean brine in his sinuses.
Kyle collapsed out of the water and flopped onto his back, breath sawing in and out. He looked up at a grey, unforgiving sky as the tide lapped at his soaking legs and boots. His kit weighed a tonne. It was logged with water, ruining his equipment. His rifle was gone. A limp hand flapped at his hip and he found his pistol still in its drop holster, not that it was much use wet.
He mouthed a silent me as he closed his eyes. Now that the burn was fading and he was getting oxygen he felt the ache in his whole body. He must have hit the water hard and by surprise; Kyle wouldn't be surprised if he was black and blue tomorrow. He groaned softly and clenched and unclenched his fists, working feeling back into the freezing digits. The ocean had been cruelly cold. Wherever he was, it wasn't Kuwait.
But Kyle was exhausted from the swim. He'd had to fight the churn of angry water around the dark cluster of rocky islands, his gear weighing him down, disoriented and already choking on sea water. His body burned with lactic acid.
From where he lay on the gravel beach he could see the rocky bluffs, the sharp jut of a ruined castle weathered by the sea, and the cold grey sky.
Definitely not Kuwait.
The sound of footsteps in gravel broke Kyle's miserable digestion of his surroundings and he turned his head, still flat on his back, watching the blurry shape approach.

The Iron Islands, the Iron Isles, or the Kingdom of the Iron Isles, is one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms. The isles were historically ruled by rock, salt, and High Kings chosen in kingsmoots, next by hereditary Kings of the Iron Islands, and then briefly by Kings of the Isles and the Rivers. Since Aegon's Conquest, the region has been ruled by House Greyjoy, Lords of the Iron Islands, from their castle of Pyke.
The Iron Islands are home to a fierce seafaring people who call themselves the ironborn. While some say the archipelago is named after the abundant iron ore on the islands, the ironmen claim it is instead named after their own unyielding nature. It is often said that every captain is a king aboard his own ship, so the islands are also called "the land of ten thousand kings".
Notable houses have included Blacktyde, Botley, Drumm, Goodbrother, Greyiron, Harlaw, Hoare, Merlyn, Stonehouse, Sunderly, Tawney, and Wynch. Bastards of noble origin from the Iron Islands receive the surname Pyke.
