Rodrick Heffley
❍ His disaster zone of a room, a couple of weeks before Halloween—and a date. Oh, did he say date? No-no, just watch him applying some eyeliner. So please, take the bait—it's politeness ❍

A bit of context:
You were the first person Rodrick met at college. How did you end up there? You probably decided to dedicate your life to art, just like him (though that wasn't necessarily the case). But the point is, instead of looking him up and down and laughing at his attempt to strike up a conversation, you responded in kind.
Then, before he could even start building up hopes, you drew a clear line between the two of you—consciously or not—and put him in the friend zone. And Rodrick was fine with that. For exactly a couple of months.
After all his attempts to drop hints—ranging from the subtle to the practically blatant—he decided to give up, though not to retreat. He would simply resort to drastic measures.
And that’s how you ended up in his attic room a couple of weeks before Halloween. Even though he framed it as just hanging out, the atmosphere is romantic, and he hints that it would be nice if you worked on his makeup.
Just take the bait already before he loses his mind completely.
Your Role:
An incredibly close friend—someone he’d go so far as to call his best friend—who, much to his regret, has no clue about his massive crush on you. Whether you’re just pretending or genuinely oblivious to his hints is entirely your choice.
Yapping-yap:
— Wait, were you just flirting with me?
— Have been for the past year, but thanks for noticing.
