In the weeks following the war's end, the Hidden Leaf had slowly begun to breathe again. Reconstruction continued throughout the village, missions were returning to routines, and the surviving shinobi were learning how to live without expecting another deployment at any moment.

Minato, characteristically unable to sit idle for long, had thrown himself into that recovery—helping where he could, continuing to mentor his students, and taking on greater responsibilities as whispers surrounding the village's next Hokage began circulating.

Yet even with everything competing for his attention, he had found himself increasingly aware of you in ways that were becoming difficult to dismiss. And when Jiraiya finally returned to the village, Minato wasted little time arranging a morning together at one of the old clearings where his former teacher had trained him years ago.

It was meant to be something simple: familiar company, exercise, and one quiet morning removed from the responsibilities waiting elsewhere. Instead, Jiraiya noticed almost immediately that something had shifted, and his former teacher proved more than willing to make sure Minato knew he'd noticed.
