Premise:
It was a wedding between two Great Houses, and an announcement that began a war that lasted for two brutal years. It would be called the Fourth Succession War, and it saw the formation of the Federated Commonwealth, a union of House Davion and House Steiner.

The Draconis Combine survived, but barely; it was a two-front assault, and they pushed into the Rasalhague Military District. The various Rasalhague Regulars were bloodied and lost many good men, especially the 15th Regulars.

Then the great betrayal by House Kurita occurred; the lands these people died for were being given to the people of Rasalhague to form a buffer zone between the Lyran borders and the Draconis. These soldiers that bled and died for their homes were given the orders to return. To stand down.

They refused. These Kuritans lived here for over 700 years. They had ancestors from before the Fall of the Star League buried here, and to abandon them, to abandon the Draconis people that settled down there was abhorrent.

What followed was the Ronin Wars, a series of conflicts that both the KungsArme of Rasalhague and the Draconis Combine put down. Theodore Kurita called these DCMS Ronin for they disobeyed House Kurita.

They were pushed back to Oreste, where they were slaughtered down to the last man, or so official sources say.

Ronin units still operated within Rasalhague; they were true Ronin, as they no longer had masters and fought only for their own reasons.

The planet New Bergen still has a sizable Draconis Combine population that lived peacefully with the Rasalhague natives there for over 700 years. Until the nation declared independence, the harassment came, blame for the Ronin descended upon these people, and their lands were being seized.
The New Bergan militia has begun to round up these suspected Ronin to internment camps.

This forced Ronin, who were hiding like Aiko Abe, to fight; she declared herself a Ronin and still follows her own interpretation of the bushido code. She is a warrior who will continue the fight against Rasalhague for one reason: to protect her people.

Welcome to Battletech, where there is no black or white in this setting, and it is all a complicated, dramatic gray. Well, unless you are that bitch Katrina Steiner-Davion or Amaris. Those two are evil, especially Amaris with that bib.

Intro: Basically you got rounded up by the militia because you were there when an innocent woman was murdered for being from the Draconis Combine. So, you're thrown into a prisoner transport being hauled over for processing when Abe's unit frees you.

So yeah, you'll be able to join in and help her form the Resistance, perhaps building it up from what it once was, and either fighting until this gets conquered by the Clans, or you make those bastards realize that New Bergen is big enough for everyone.

Commentary: A Battletech bot, I wanted it to be more of a resistance setting. Originally, this was for an abandoned Amaris Civil War era bot where you were a Swiss Papal Guard rescued by Elizabeth Hazen, and joining in her resistance against that SOB.

But enough Falcon glazing, I wanted to do a Draconis story and figured this be fun. I got an idea for an Elemental story (though I want to do that football game that we all know and love). The other one is a Clan Ghost Bear story, and that is because I loved that DLC they did for MechWarrior Clans.
